I've taken it on myself to model the VF-1 series mecha from Robotech/Macross.

I don't normaly posts WIP shots, but I thought I'd get a few opinions on how I'm doing.

Here's the model so far, in three recognisable colours schemes:

I know Jetfire's the VF-1S model, but I had to get at least one TF in there to get it past the censors! :)

Very nice, but you know you'll have to build a proper JF head to avoid a case of the grumbles...:thumb

But an excellent start, nonetheless! :D

    Thanks all!

This was done in the 3D design program ProDesktop...and that nosecone was one of the most complicated components I've ever built...matched only by that damned cockpit section.

Got the upper arms and wings done, so I should have the main section done soon.

    Stay tuned! :thumbs2:

    Well, I will be anyway!

Wait till I've finished it, then PM me whatever colours you'd like to see it in.

Ah, the beauty of spline modeling. I've been meaning to use NURBS myself at some point since poly and sub-D modeling don't quite cut it for me on certain shapes. I just wished that my interactivity turned to crap after executing a few fillets and trims.

    Thanks!

    Latest jet modes:

It can now get into Gerwalk and Battloid modes but lacks feet. Just have to add those, the thigh reverse thrusters and a bucket load of detailing.

    Stay tuned!
