As long as they treat him better this time I'm all for that! And he has to refer to himself in the plural. None of this "I" crap, it's we all the way baby!
Add "WE" Take away his lame scream Give him room as a character And then we have a passable film Venom(at least for me).
He was Black Carnage in Spider 3. For the most part, Topher really pulled everything he could out of that script. Well this seems to be getting made in house at Marvel, so no Sam Raimi "I DONT LIKE VENUM". Also, so far the word is that Topher will be Eddie, so it will most likely be a spin-off FROM Spider-Man 3 (hilarious for all those people who kept saying "VENOM IS DEAD LIVE WITH IT"). THe movie can turn out good, since it's all Marvel. It will be an interesting redemption story...since the main character thinks its okay to eat the brains of muggers. As for Carnage...yeah I can see it. But only if we get other super heroes helping out. The only good story related to Carnage was Maximum Carnage.
Sounds like a cool idea to me. While I do like Spiderman 3, I do think that Venom didn't get enough screen time. Venom should also get some better action figures and what not from a movie of his own. Hopefully if it is made, we get a couple of sequels dealing with his family. Edit: Is it just me, or is it sad that some people are getting upset about this movie, even though we know extremely little about it. I'd say don't judge a book by it's cover, but, we don't even have that much info about this yet.
The story that ended with Carnage being defeated by the "positive/happy" ray gun is considered good now?
Sounds good to me. Venom has always been my favorite Spidey villian and I absolutely hated how he was treated in Spider-Man 3. Raimi knows nothing of Venom. Now, at least, we'll hopefully get the Venom we should have gotten the first time!
Let him speak with his mask on. The hole thing doesn’t need to come off every time he has something to say to Fez and Donna.
Since it never defeated Carnage, that doesn't matter. It was a gun built based on Shriek's own abilities, except opposite, to counter her power to extend rageful insanity. Carnage was defeated due to Venom tackling him into burning gas canisters causing a huge explosion.
I hope they don't mess it up, he is my most favoritest character of all time and him fighting Carnage and then having a sequel with Toxin being spawned is my very unlikely dream! *faint*
I skipped Spider-Man 3 (the novelization was terrible enough), but wouldn't mind seeing a Venom spin-off movie. I don't care too much about the superficial stuff, like the "I/we" thing or specifics of the costume design, but I'm concerned that a film with Venom as the star is going to end up like the really bad "Lethal Protector"-era characterization, with trying to play Venom as an anti-hero. And, assuming it is spinning out of Spider-Man 3, I don't see how it's in that Eddie's character to suddenly become a hero. As far as the villain, Carnage would be neat to see, but I could see him needing to be toned down a little so the movie doesn't get too high of a rating. With the possible exception of Scream, Venom doesn't really have any other stand-out recurring adversaries though. It was pretty good for a Carnage story. Other than his two one-shots and the Spider-Man/Batman crossover, Carnage has been in a lot of really god-awful stories, so something like Maximum Carnage can easily make it to the level of "good" for that character.
