Mark Maher is back again on Instagram with a deep dive on how the new Cosmos came to be! Really cool seeing how it started out as a BB origins Bee retool to a whole new mold

 

He was going to be an Origins Bumblebee retool? That makes a lot more sense than frigging Warpath!

Agreed, although I had an inkling that the warpath mold "could possibly" work JUST because of how the shoulders flip up. That could have made the shoulders for Cosmos.

Very happy with how the little guy came out!!!

Could you people post screencaps or mirror the images? Not everyone has instagram and not everyone wants to.

 

Still hoping they use Cybertronian Bee for Aileron.

 

I can definitely see where they where getting at with the Bee retool, but it didn't look accurate (or generally good). Honestly I feel that if it got enough retooling Warpath would've actually been the better option judging by how they both transform, but I'm glad he's an entirely new mold.

Swipe right and you will see how I sold him in as a partial tool using the Origins BB mold. He would of been more of a new rendition of him. I just didnt think a g1 version of him was possible with the tooling allocated. But TT made it happen All NEW in 3 molds!!!

Ittoku Kuwazu worked closely with Hasui Shogo in making this guy the best Cosmos evah! I chimed in on making the flag alt as a blaster and really worked hard on getting the proportions as close to his animation appearance as possible. As you can see from block model to final look, alot had to happen. But with our great partnership this guy is ready to officiate the speedia 500.

Yeah that Bee retool is something I feel like Hasbro would’ve done during the GDO line from back in the day or early generations. Glad he looks as he does now!

 

They did a remarkable job of remolding Warpath, although with how much is different, it feels more like shared engineering than a remold (considering I can't actually see any shared parts). Very glad they didn't go with the Saucer Bee remold, while it's a lot more similar in vehicle mode (superficially so given how much flatter it is than Cosmos' vehicle mode), that robot mode just wouldn't fit at all. Way too many panels hanging off the back and arms.

Excited for this guy to come out, although whether or not I get my hands on it remains to be seen.

 

Thank goodness they didn't go with Origins BB. Cosmos just keeps looking better and better. I do appreciate these posts that they keep doing, very informative.

I hope to see a Autobot Pathfinder recolor of Cosmos.

 

I will now never be happy until I get a Pathfinder from that bee mold

 

I just did a couple tests, and you can view posts on desktop without being logged in, while mobile always redirects you to the login page. Setting your mobile browser to Desktop Mode won't sidestep this.

Anyhow, I would've understood if he had to be a Bumblebee retool, but thank goodness that they were able to work out the new tooling. Really looking forward to this guy, praying it's not going to be too much of a fight to find him.

 

Dammit to hell that this chonkey boy will be packed one per case.  

 

Man these minibots so far are looking spectacular, we better get Powerglide. 

 

I love this. My two complaints are the head and the size. I think it looks more aquatic than a space helmet and I think it should be a bit bigger. But this is a day one purchase.
