Good heavens, the animators really did bugger up Devastator when they made his animation model.
Who thought it would be a good idea to make the mixer barrel his left knee? Those things don't bend very well.
Where did the tracks go on each arm?
Why doesn't Scrapper look anything like his alt-mode when he's combined?

If a company wants to try and match the animation model more closely than Magic Square & New Age, then they've picked a tough challenge. I'll agree that elongating Mixmaster's barrel as VL shows on their mock-up is probably going to be the wrong way to make a knee. Not sure if anyone will be happy with that. They need a different trick to pull this off. Everyone else seems to have decided to just shorten Mixmaster (or not elongate MM) and give him a real knee despite what the gospel of Sunbow shows.

I think MS has the streamlined look from the movie which I prefer to the cartoon animation which came across as most of the cartoon did at times, inconsistent and clunky? Dunno if I've explained that well though!

Other than being drawn with better shading, I don't see a big difference between movie Devy and toon.

So what's up with this VecTron Lab company? I've never heard of them. It says VT-06, does that mean they've made 5 other figures?

Nothing's coming up from googling their name, other than this topic.

Where's Scrapper? Because I know that weird foot thing can't possibly transform into him. Hate the legs in general. I'm not necessarily opposed to upsizing a good Legends figure to MP but if I'm gonna' buy a Legends-to-MP Devastator, I'd much much prefer it be based on MST's. Just looks better all around (especially the individual bots) and uses less parts-forming for the torso.

I'm guessing since there are six constructicons, it's meant to be VT-01 - VT-06.

I would love a 16 in tall G1 Devastator. Toyworld is way too big.

What do they even mean by MP scale if this is real?

Do they mean Zeta, CW Devastator, or Raiden, who is far too stupidly small for MP it isn't even funny.

I don't know that I'd want to give MP money to an unheard of company that can't spell 'preorder'.

Perhaps they meant, "preodor" because some does stink with this.
    SmartSelect_20211014-182857_Chrome.jpg

I argue that there is still too much recognizable Scrapper in this company's effort. Cartoon Devastator clearly had the Cybertronian equivalent of a peg leg.

If I had to guess, I'm guessing this is fake. You can tell by the pose, the reflections on the forearms near the elbows, and some of the lines and hinges on Scavenger that they clearly started with an image of Newage's Devy and photoshopped some stuff to remove some lines and make the legs look more like the cartoon (for better or worse).

With that out of the way, upscaling Legends to MP is a bad idea. But the first company to start taking Magic Square, Newage, and MechFansToys/Mechanic Studio's stuff and upscaling it to match the War for Cybertron and Studio Series 86 stuff can have my money.

So looking over this image, I think it's not real, but is a "real" knockoff 3D model of NA's Devvy.

The legs are completely different - Scrapper and Mixmaster are forming everything up to the hips here, with engineering to accommodate it in some form. I'm not sure how they'll form coherent robot and vehicle modes while still exploding into those super long legs, but whatever, I don't think this will come out anyway.

There's still partsforming, the arms and main torso are clearly still separate parts. There's a few other small differences I can see by turning my head and looking at my NA Hephaestus, but the waist down is the big one. The torso looks slightly remolded too, but only slightly.

Also, Mixmaster's mixing drum is clearly photoshopped on, not part of the 3D model.

I was trying to find the Magic Square thread yesterday after seeing this, and was thinking the same thing. Maybe Magic Square themselves can do an OS version of it. Seems like their nylon plastic might allow a bigger bot that's still light weight enough for it to not be a pain to manipulate.

Basically an oversized (MP scale size) KO version of NA Devy.

Because it’s a photoshopped version of NA’s render. It’s not a new render, it’s clearly a photoshopped image of an existing render.
