No. I have Eject but have no desire to make molds of parts, especially with the high risk of cracking the plastic with pin removal.

    119. 5mm handle adapter for DNA Design DK-38 set for Legacy Menasor

The DK-38 set is overall recommended, although, still unfortunately has some of the trademark DNA Design jank. The worst parts of the set is how the new hitch setup very noticeably offsets the front of the trailer height in alt mode (also puts the trailer into the wrong position), and how the new hands lose 5mm handle compatibility.

I have ideas for an alternate hitch. For now, made adapters for the new hands. The sword that comes with the set is an oversized 7mm handle with a side tab to attach to the hand. The fingers are able to hold onto certain accessories on their own with oversized handles, even without the tab support, but can't handle 5mm pegs.

Made a mold of the sword handle, made a resin cast of the handle, trimmed length down to size, and drilled in a 5mm hole (started at 2mm and worked my way up to 5mm).

    Silicone mold prep work.

    Finished mold.

Resin casted handles with black dye.
    handle3.jpg

Cut and filed handles down to size and carefully drilled in 5mm holes.
    handle4.jpg

Now Menasor with the DK-38 hands is able to stably hold a much wider variety of accessories. The adapters will also act as 5mm couplers.

TDW cape, ZX Menasor rifle (1st / CW version, not the KO version either; modded handle), and SND bladed weapons.

    120. Grappling hook cables for Buzzworthy Bumblebee Legacy Evolution Origin Jazz

Origin Jazz comes with a grappling hook in 2 parts. The base has a 5mm peg and 5mm port. The hook itself has a blast effects style peg (to attach to the blaster): 5mm outer diameter, 3mm inner diameter hole.

A custom cable would need a 5mm peg at one end and a 3mm peg at the other. The 5mm port for the grappling hook base is a bit on the loose side; the hook peg fits fine but a proper 5mm peg may have difficulty staying in place.

Instead of deciding between flexible and rigid cabling, made both. Made resin casts of 5mm and 3mm pegs that were cut and filed down to size. The local hobby store had black nylon cable in 1mm diameter and black wire in 1.3mm diameter.

For the flexible 1mm cable, drilled a 1mm hole all the way through the centers of both pegs. At the back ends, drilled a shallow 1.5mm hole. Used a soldering iron to melt the ends of the nylon cords into a slightly wider blob at the end that would fit into the 1.5mm part and not have the pegs come off the cable.

For the 1.3mm wire for more rigid posing, drilled a 1.5mm hole (closest drill bit I had) through the centers of both pegs. At the back ends, drilled a shallow 2mm hole. This was tricky to do for the 3mm peg but able to get done without cracking. Then crimped the ends of the wire until they were about 2mm and not have the pegs come off the cable.

Flexible cable version. The blue arrows show the pegs with the holes drilled through. The green arrows show the melted wider ends of the cable.

The custom pegs are sized to make them relatively flush when plugged in. The 5mm end is a hair loose as the stock port is loose. If I turn the peg just right, though, it's able to stay in reasonably OK.

Edit: To help improve grip in the slightly loose stock 5mm port, going to spray over the custom 5mm pegs with Tamiya lacquer "MATT" black spray paint. This stuff is fairly resilient and doesn't scuff easily.

Also, as it would be hard to find black 3mm and 5mm pegs (various 3mm tubes and rods are size accurate but 5mm are not), one can use a hot glue gun with black glue sticks:
    https://www.homedepot.com/p/RYOBI-All-Purpose-Full-Size-Black-Glue-Sticks-12-Pack-A1931204/320243287

Melt a tiny glob at the end of a cable and keep going until it fits into the ports.

Miscellaneous: Origin Jazz magnetron LED mod

This is yet another LED idea. There's an area on the small of the back to tape a blue dual magnetron LED. This barely fits. The single LED version is too big to fit in alt mode.

    121. Filler mod for damaged Jetfire rifle

A while ago, bought some loose accessories for various bots, including an extra pair of Siege Jetfire rifles. However, one of them had a problem...
    siege1.jpg

It wasn't broken, cut, or melted off. The injection molding looks like it failed at the back end.

There's not a good way to patch that, even if I made a mold of our other rifle set. Decided to try a 'repaired battle damage' look. Cut out a piece of craft metal sheet to cover up the gap and used a piece of removable adhesive putty to keep in place. Then I used a resistor leftover from LED projects with the legs used as 'cables'. Still thinking about painting over the resistor.

You could just contact Hasbro to get a replacement.

Outside of getting loose parts off eBay, you could just fill in and sculpt the space with putty. It's too small of a space to do much else with it.

    Miscellaneous: Another tape fix

Holiday Optimus Prime may have various paint defects in the white stripe of his chest window. The box art render also shows the stripe extending to the top of the chest window assembly. Able to account for both using tape.

For this example, used Tamiya 3mm 'Masking Tape for Curves', which matches the width of the white stripe. Cut the tape down to length, covered up the existing white stripe, and wrapped around over the top. Then using a very sharp hobby razor, cut a line where the matrix window opens up.

Took several minutes just to get the positioning just right.
    hop3.jpg

    Window opens just fine.
    hop2.jpg

There's a very slight gap at the top in alt mode, so the tape won't get caught. It does leave an extra visible stripe on the back of the cab.

That stripe looks good on the back, it gives it more of a unique look.
