It feels like a movie version of the MDK game.

Saw a trailer before the film I was watching today. Maybe it's just being a bit burned out on sequels and cinematic universes right now but I'm actually looking forward to the movie now as something different.

As a someone who has the French Valierian comic books... This might be positively something. French movies and comic books can be insanely rad.

I just saw one of the featurettes. From the look in his eye, you can really believe that Luc Besson has waited his entire life just to make this movie.

The last time I saw a director like this was Guillermo del Toro with Pacific Rim. Two weeks now 'til this film hits theaters. I'm excited since we've got great creators behind it. And I hope it will make up for the disappointment that Jupiter Ascending was.

I realy hope this is good. I love the visuals of the fifth element so that will porably be the same with this movie.

Is it just me, or do they look like brother and sister to anyone else? That's part of what's weirding me out about the casting.

I think everything about the movie looks pretty amazing... except for the two leads...

Everywhere on the internet people have to describe this by saying it looks like 'this' mixed with 'that'.

Visually I'm reminded of Avatar with elements of Star Wars Prequels.

I think it looks as big as those movies (in terms of scope, if not commercial appeal). The Fifth Element is the more obvious comparison though.

Wow... what a letdown this film is. Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets is just like The Fifth Element, minus the talent. If you're expecting a full-blown space opera, go somewhere else, as this film turns out to be a run-of-the-mill sci-fi action film with a mystery plot on the side. The storyline leaves a lot to be desired, as it ends up being derivative of every sci-fi film released over the past four decades. The main characters are easily the weakest part of the film, as Dane DeHaan spends most of the film trying to impersonate Keanu Reeves while Carla Delevigne proves that her abysmal performance in Suicide Squad was no fluke. The chemistry between the two is completely non-existent, yet they try so hard to roll with it. And Rhianna is just there for a paycheck.

So if the story is bad and the actors are worse, would the special effects redeem the film. Not really. The Fifth Element wowed everyone two decades ago with its astonishing world design and effects that still hold well today. Valerian, on the other hand, relies too heavily on CGI effects, and most of them already look outdated.

Overall, you're not missing anything with this film. Go watch The Fifth Element instead.

To bad, sounds like one of the most visually stunning movies ever. What are they saying about the 3D?

Will not watch those annoying reviewers

No shit. We don't need a buttload of review videos. Who gives a crap what they think? I never go see or choose not to see a movie based on a critic.

My girlfriend and I enjoyed it, but that about sums it up for the lead actors. I'd still watch it again. It's a fun movie.

As expected, it's going down in flames at the box office.
