As I said, some molds don't look very nice in Cartoon Colurs (Legends Springer, Legends Galvatron) And also, painting Onslaught and Swindle hubcaps silver, while accurate to the G1 cartoon, looks really off... and also... this set made me hate Bruticus G1 colour Scheme, I always remembered more the G1 Toy Colour scheme rather than the cartoon one.

I must admit that Vortex is quite gorgeous and beats the hell out of Hasbro's. I don't give a crap about the rotors but those colors are really nice. Blastoff still doesn't look good to me; that sandy color on him just looks wierd. I really hope Hasbro releases the mold in more proper brown colors.
Onslaught's face looks rather odd to me but the rest of him is nice. Swindle gives me mixed feelings; overall I prefer Hasbro's there. Hasbro Brawl also looks better to me though I respect TT's decision on it. Still looking forward to this set. The Bruticus mode is where it'll shine.

I think both sets have pros and cons. It really is just a matter of personal taste.

I sure do wish Hasbro would have gone with G1 Brawl green though.

Agreed on both points. The brownish greeny kinda colour is a bit off from what I would have prefered for Brawl.

I agree. I kind of also wish Hasbro had painted the Bruticus head silver instead of metallic black/grey and painted the chest plate silver as well.
But as you say:p ros and cons. Mostly Decepticons.

I mean, they are almost the same toy, but for 2 different type of markets... The Hasbro one is supposed to be for both kids and collectors, hence the G1 Toy Colour Scheme and Takara goes for the Adult collector market, with that, beign Almost the same as the G1 cartoon.. Both decos bring some issues to the figures... Like Beign "Too Toy-ish" in Hasbro's case and beign "Too simplistic" in Takara's case...
It depends on people tastes and own likes.

And on a side note, for those who say Takara tries to make them more "realistic"... Well, explain me how on earth a Military Dune Buggy and an Armored Truck would sport Silver Hubcaps...

Vortex was the tipping point for me. That muster yellow on Hasbro's just kills me. With Shattered Glass Slingshot already nudging me towards UW, Vortex's deco was the straw that broke the Camel's back ~ the other 3 i don't feel super strongly about (i mean, i generally feel like Takara's are nicer, but not so much that importing was a necessity) but between Vortex and Blast Off being a new mold (even if they didn't nail his colors) I'm Unite Warriors on this release.

The good thing is you can always mix and match. If you don't like the UW version of one of the bots, I'm sure you can easily sell or or swap for the Hasbro version.

^^^Yeah Hasbro's version is starting to become pretty common in my local stores. I'm waiting on my Takara version though. I have Hasbro versions of the other Scramble City Combiners but this will be my first Takara box set.

I would of like to have seen Vortex's missiles painted silver or gunmetal.

I actually prefer the hasbro Vortex so I'll be getting both since the UW one is a box set. Once in hand I'll decide if I'm selling one off and which, in hand may change my mind. Same with Onslaught.

Happy that we have the choice to do this so we can all create the team as we want them.
