ok so i shipped this guy on the board a mp grimlock a few weeks ago but i couldnt afford tracking it should've got there by now but it hasnt he wrote a complaint to paypal about it, has this happend to anyone before, packages being lost in the mail i mean
If you couldn't afford tracking, you shouldn't have mailed the figure . Paypal will not side with you if this turns into a claim. BTW, how long ago did you mail it?
Did you buy your postage online? Tracking is free for all Priority Postage online and $.19 for Parcel and First Class
no i bought it at the post office and i shipped first class its like a dollar extra in store and i know thats not much but it is alot if you dont have an actual job petty work for family members is all i can do at the moment and they dont pay much and after i buy minutes for my phone i dont have much left
Always mail with tracking because you will be screwed if a claim comes up and there is no tracking. Next time wait to ship until you have the 80 cents for tracking as well.
thats why when u sell something you factor tracking into the shipping price. i always and only ship priority with tracking even overseas, to avoid these type of situations. at this point you might be out of luck, unless you have the receipt and can prove you shipped it, its kind of out of your hands at that point and not your fault USPS cant deliver a package, so paypal might let that slide.
Chances are he got the fig, knew there was no tracking number on it and lied to make a profit. He lies to paypal, he get's his money back therefor the fig was free for him. Moral of the story, always checks your customer's/seller's feedback and ALWAYS use Delivery Confirmation, end of story.
I'm not trying to be mean, but this doesn't sound legit to me. You sold a MP Grimlock, which I'm sure netted quite a bit of dough, and out of that money you couldn't pay the $.80 for the tracking? 1.) It would've protected you and the buyer. 2.) It would've helped you fight Paypal. 3.) It would prevent the buyer from filing mail fraud charges against you. (Which he can do. In all fairness, you received his money and provided no proof that his item has been sent. The P.O. and the law would most likely side with him.) I'm not saying you did anything bad, I'm just saying that you have no legal footing to fight him on this one. He's going to win. You should've paid the $.80 for tracking. You could've taken it out of the money he sent. And sending it First Class? You couldn't have saved that much money by sending it First Class. I sent an item that cheaply once, the situation almost blew up in my face. I learned from that. I'll pay the extra for the tracking. I'll pay for a more efficient shipping method. I'll request the full amount out of the buyer. You should've handled it better. You'll most likely be out the figure and the money. Please learn the lesson so this doesn't happen again. If you're not working and you're selling off pieces of your collection to make ends meet, buying minutes for your phone shouldn't be priority. A prepaid cellphone is expensive, I know, I have one. If it came down to bills or that, bills come first.
nickel and diming will always cost you more than 15 cents. rule of thumb: if you are paranoid about items you buy online, and demand tracking, then you should provide it when you sell. but as for your case...good luck. I make the suggestion that the thread title be changed to "I went cheap on Shipping and I have a problem."
Hi. I'm the guy he's talking about. I paid him for Grimmy on the 29th of June. He says he shipped it out on the 18th of July. I did not receive the item, nor would I cheat anyone on it. It Grimmy shows up during the dispute, or after, I will GLADLY end the dispute, or resend the money. But right now, I'm just covering my bases.
I'm really not trying to be a dick about this. I'm really not. But honestly....I think over a month to wait on a figure is a bit excessive, don't you think? I'm not saying he's cheating me. Not at all. BUT, I WILL cover myself for the unlikely event.
there is no way you used First Class as shipping service. First Class cut off is at 13ounces and MP Grimlock weighs more. If you have the receipt you might have shipped Parcel Post which can take about 7-10 days, some instances up to 2 weeks.
