No a true sheep would... I have a mind of my own which doesn't have to follow all the g1 rules, it just has look...."GOOD!" The only issue I have here is why do the people who do love every crappy cartoon Hasbro creates and calls a transformer, feel the need to rebuttal everything big brother (aka G1er) doesn't like about it!?
Starscream as a bodged F-16 lookalike with spikes on it is strange. I don't really get that. It's not an update to his G1 alt mode because it's based on another jet from the 1970s, and it looks a lot less modern than the F-22 that the movie character turns into. He could have just stayed an F-15 with a new transformation to keep him looking like a toothpick. Not sure why I'm trying to make sense of this one design choice when it's all so horrible.
I've been down with Transformers since day one, I am a Geewunner! But I love Transformers from all series. I always like some designs, and hate others. But one thing for sure is that I always enjoy watching the series, there is just something about seeing all of my favorite characters re-invented over and over again. So far I do not feel Soundwave, but so what, I'm sure it will be awesome when we finally get to see him in action!!
This I'm not normally one to bash anything, as I try to keep subjectivity in mind. I even like Soundwave's face. But... his arms are soooo thin, almost 2D. I just don't 'get' it. Plus his altmode looks like a marital aid with wings. Haha! So true. Honestly I think the only toy I might like from this range is Arcee, simply because there hasn't been a good mold of her in... well, ever.
That's good, I only speak to people who don't act like jerks to everyone who doesn't agree with their narrow minded view of a toy line.
can't we ever get larger renders? and to those complaining about everything that isn't G1 as usual: "Get Over It"
That Starscream design is full of WIN. I have to like the Bulkhead design or my sister will punch me.
Touché. You're right, I shouldn't make that call but I still think that a Transformers fan should at least enjoy some aspect of each incarnation of them.
First of all lets all congratulate ourselves for arguing over the internet - oooh yeah we're super cool, now. Someone here is always going to find something negative about anything Transformers. I myself don't personally care for these character designs, however if they fit into their environment and work with their personalities than I may be swayed. When Beast Wars came around I was 100% against the idea of giant robots becoming monkeys and rhinos. Yet I sat down and watched a few episodes - now Beast Wars is amongst my favorite sublines, if only for the writing. Once I cast aside prejudice and watched it with an open mind their physical designs made sense. Let's just see where Transformers: Prime goes. As I said before, I'm not thrilled about a few of these designs, but lets see if they work for the characters once the show drops. I wasn't big on Bayformers either, but I've learned to respect them for their own thing. Also Human Alliance Barricade is a kick-ass figure. ~Z PS: TFP Bulkhead still looks like a Gunmen. Gurren Lagann would Kick. His. Ass.
I just don't like the way they look. I said the same thing about animated though. I now love animated.
Well Bulkhead looks great, and now that Starscream's not flat he does look a lot better. Soundwave still looks weird, but I really hope he grows on me.
I can't really dig Starscream/Voldermort as an F16 - it's a bit... unglamorous for him. The fact that it's a bit spiky, you can see seam lines, and has kibble hanging off the underside gives me hope for toys down the track (like they've been working directly from a toy sketch or similar).
Soundwave, for some reason, reminds me of Transmetal Terrorsaur. Maybe it's the arms (which form the wings in his alt. mode) and somewhat his colors.
