Hi guys, I can't seem to make up my mind. I do not own any of the original classics seeker molds as of now. If I could only get one, should I get the Asia Exclusive Seeker 3 Pack or the FOC Starscream? I just do not want to get both.

I will go for the 3 pack just because it's Starscream looking G1.
The FOC one has nice articulation but the Vehicle mode is just not 'earthy' enough for me.

    What's your take?

    Asia Seekers.

If the cost is making you wince just a little...deals on the retail versions are still possible, although of course they won't match each other as closely.

I think you answered your own question. Sounds like you want the 3-pack - the classics seeker mold isn't the best they've ever done (well, it was pretty awesome when it first came out, but it's aged now), but it's still a good one, displays well, and is fun to fiddle with.

As far as FOC Starscream... well, he's meant to be Cybertronian, so he won't be earthy.

I really have to ask why not? If you are willing to spend $130+ for that seeker set, that comes out to ~43 bucks a figure...why would you not want to pick up foc starscream on top of that for $15 more? That just sounds a little odd to me.

I mean I get if we're comparing two things that cost the same and you could only afford one...but it seems like you are interested in both the set and foc starscream to some degree. Why not spend a few bucks more and just get both?

Yeah I guess that sounds right. As of now, I am 100% going to get the FOC Starscream. The 3 pack is just something I'm not sure about. I don't collect classics, just maybe the few characters like Optimus Prime and Jazz from the Henkei line. I don't even have or want Megatron. So it seems funny if I get Starscream and the 2 seekers coz they will be just --- there... I am not a hardcore G1 fan but I want a good representation of that character in deluxe form.

I'm going to guess that if you're not THAT fussed about Classics, you're not that fussed about matching decos......in which case maybe consider what i said about the retail versions.

Yeah I guess. It's impossible to find any retail versions here in Singapore, but I know that I can have no trouble getting the 3 pack next year.

If you're not big on classics, maybe you could skip the three Seekers. That mold is really old and frankly rather lacking compared to modern engineering.

The Classics Starscream is more for if you want to collect all of the Seeker in the same style. As other people have said the mold is really starting to show it's age when you compare it to later figures in the Classics style. All of the Seekers together looks really cool but just on it's own not so much.

On the bright side if you just wanted Starscream you could make some of your money back by selling the Thundercracker and Skywarp figures from the set.

Fall of Cybertron Starscream would be pretty nice if you are going to collect some other game related characters then he wouldn't stand out for not having an Earth mode. With the holidays on the way you might even pick the figure up on sale.

Or you just don't like the traditional Seekers, and prefer another way of representing those characters ( or skip them. )

The only reason I'm not getting the Seeker 3-packs (what! Quentin not buying Seekers!?) is because I've already got both sets in both the Henkei and original Hasbro releases. They're just not different enough, from what little I've seen, to go into buying them over again.

I'm waiting on FOC Starscream, though that's going to be displayed on a different shelf.

Skip the classics seekers. A genuinely lackluster boring mold. I've owned it repeatedly as I felt I 'had' to own modern deluxe seekers, but they're dated and far from the best deluxe figures, even when they came out. On the plus side, you can always make a profit off of them when you sell them.

The FOC looks like a fun toy, I'm waiting to see how it is.

I like the Classics Seeker mold. They're not the best but they're great representations of them and they look great also despite lack of articulation. That being said...I agree...if you're not much of a Classics fan, I'd say just save the money and ebay a loose Classics or Universe 2.0 Starscream, depending on what flavor you want. That 130 isn't cost that you need to pay if you really just want Starscream.

I have the 3 three seekers and I plan to get the foc one just because he's not that much. Just put him onto a different shelf.

If your looking at Classics Seekers it might be cheaper to track them down previous releases on eBay. TFU 2.0 Starscream and Generations Thundercracker have been going for aroung $20 and $15 repsectively. Classics 1.0 Skywarp might be tricky but I've seen go for around $40-50 loose. Shipping would be the kicker, but it might save you a few bucks than the Asia exclusive set.

Probably the strangest two options ever. I am a classics whore so my opinion doesn't matter much, I have every release of the seekers, and will continue to buy it every time they put it out. Not sure how many of the Asian exclusives will be produced (guessing quite a few), but the FOC version should be easy enough to track down if you do decide to go that route in the future. At the same time, if you aren't a huge fan of the seeker/classics, I wouldn't invest that much into the 3-pack.
