I have a stupid question for a Toys R Us employee or anybody that just knows more than me. After the thread went up about Age of Extinction Voyager wave 2 being found at US retail (at Toys R Us specifically), I jotted down the UPC for Galvatron shown in the picture of the receipt. I was out toy hunting and went to my local Toys R Us and did not see any voyager wave 2 on shelves so I went to an associate and asked if they could please look it up with the UPC to verify if they had any in the back. The guy put the number into the computer and it showed that there should be 2 on the floor, as well as another 7 marked "in transit," which he said meant they were probably already at the store and being offloaded from trucks. I told him that I did a thorough search and that the figures were not on any shelves. He said that the other cases should be offloaded from the trucks within a day or two and I didn't push him to go look in the back room. Two days went by and I called in to the store, explained what I was looking for and asked to please look up by UPC to see if they had made it to shelves. The new associate showed the same inventory in the computer, 2 on the floor, 7 in transit. She was very helpful and asked for the names of the figures and put me on hold for about 5 minutes while she said she checked shelves and the back room. She came back saying the only voyager figures they have are Grimlock and Evasion Mode Optimus. I called another Toys R Us store a little over an hour away, and it was almost the exact situation. "Computer shows we have em in stock," did a quick check and "nope, we don't have those figures. So am I missing something here? I was pretty sure that the UPC is specific to each figure, and there is no way that if they have a wave 1 voyager in stock that it would show in stock for the UPC associated with Galvatron. If they were in stock for a day, and bought, would that UPC still show them as in stock? Or are they in the back of the store and the employees just don't know where to look/what to look for? Any insight from veterans of this system would be appreciated. Thanks
The UPC is specific to the figure, but the counts are the entire class. So if they have 2 on hand its two voyagers, period. There's no way to tell in the computer which figures are there
Ok, but if they search the UPC that specifically corresponds to Galvatron and get a hit, you are saying that hit in the computer could just be any other voyager figures and not the actual UPC they are searching?
Gotcha. That is very helpful and annoying haha. Definitely thought I was going to get my hands on Hound and Galvatron.
