Burst blood vessel in my skull aside, shouldn't we focus on getting GOOD Transformers content instead of splitting hairs about what is and what isn't "adult"?

Because I don't consider Megatron talking with Magnus' severed head while dArK mUsIc plays in the background to be all that mature.

Hell, EARTHSPARK's villain is more hardcore than Siege Megatron, and his name is literally Mandroid.

You're obviously too simple-minded and immature to understand the complex and deep-cut reference to Ham Ham Shaken-spear.

Ultra Yorick was a goddamn ...........W...........A...........R............ hero!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You had no idea who he was while he under that clever cloak disguise, didn't you!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!

Oh, my mistake. I had assumed it was Erector under that cloak. /j

I've grown tired of crotchety "past his prime" Ratchet. Something should finally out his "party animal" aspect from his original bio to use.

YES! I’ve never accepted the “old, crotchety” version of the character.

Hell yeah, party animal Ratchet is underrated. I wanna se him and Knockout as the two star pupils of a pre-war Iaconian Medical Academy famous for throwing the sickest, most decadent ragers between exams.

I do too— but I don’t think of that character as Ratchet. It’s more like Kup with a medic background.

The design would even look better in Kup colors as far as I'm concerned.

Imagine if that was Siege Ratchet's characterisation. The dude partied so hard, he missed peacetime and woke up to see Cybertron split down the middle.

He just wants to party hard, but this damn war keeps making him work.

IMHO, the bar has been raised in terms of modern storytelling, production values and character development in current TV series. Even things that are animated. Arcane, Blue Eyed Samurai, Scavengers Reign and Tartakovsky's Primal have really set a new pace.

Even something like The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins, which technically falls under the "Young Adult" category, has some pretty complex themes that most people would not have seen 20-25 years ago in that genre.

Certainly I think there is a pathway for series meant for kids ( i.e. Rescue Bots, something like that) But the financial heavy lifting for the merchandise for something like Transformers is still adults. A lot of legacy collectors with nostalgia in their prime earning years.

Did I enjoy Scavenger's Reign? Not all of it. But it took some risks, which I appreciated. However a version of Transformers in that kind of vein, that kind of tone, I think would be a welcome addition to the overall lore. Adapt or die. Transformers storytelling has to adapt, or tragically, it may spiral into a place where it will hard to come back from at all.

    Mike Costa's run. /j

All joking aside, that's why Beast Wars proved so successful. It took a franchise that was in far worse condition than it is now and adapted to the times.

If it can be done twice (including the Unicron Trilogy), it can be pulled off again.

Or, just theoretically, we could have Rescue Bots but with better animation. And maybe scream metal if we want to go really adult mode.

    Also please no YA. Please.

Gallant White Prime being Optimus is the Primus Vanguard was stupid.

We had plenty of Non-Optimus Prime’s in the Vanguard, and I would have preferred either Nova or better yet Magnus…the one that has been a white convoy since the 80’s.
