Actually I'm pretty sure Ginrai could fly just as Super Ginrai. I remember he flew around while literally carrying Godbomber with the Headmaster Juniors inside.

 

Well that just makes it sound as if God Bomber is even more redundant.

 

I absolutely hate the sad excuse for a Cybertronian language. It's not even a conlang (constructed language) but a piss poor cypher. It wouldn't even be expensive for Hasbro to have a very basic conlang made, but they could also probably find a fan to make one even cheaper.

 

I don't. As much as I think it's awesome that some sci-fi series like Star Trek and The Expanse have made true fictional languages, I think it's unreasonable to expect it.

Although I will say if I were to be involved in making one, I'd probably make sentence/conversation structure resemble computer code more than any spoken language.

 

I’m honestly just more used to Star Saber ala carte than with Victory. I do not give one crap about Victory.

Also, make him smaller. I’d shrink him to Magnus’ size. That was how big I thought he was when I first learned about him. How shocked I was to see his true size.

 

My unpopular opinion/confession: with Beast Wars being a minor exception (I quite like it) I don't care for any version of the Transformers but "G1".
I just don't.

 

I didn't expect a language, but if they want to do one, do it, don't have a poorly done cipher and call it a day.

 

G1 Bumblebee is still the best one, in terms of character. As in, if there were to be a book featuring him as a major/main character, G1 Bee is the one I'd want to read about.

 

He's definitely the main one that comes to mind when I think of Bumblebee as a character.

 

Like most things Transformers, I've put some thought into this but I'm a professional dabbler rather than a professional linguist so it didn't get very far.

 

Not quite. He had the wing assembly from Godbomber attached, which allowed him to fly. I’m not quite sure how the rest of Godbomber held together with those components detached, but that’s how it was depicted.

 

Comfort and arch support.

 

"Cruise mode" (the term used in the development of tiltrotors) is better than "vehicle mode" or "alt[ernate] mode" for 'bots that turn into cars/planes/boats as it communicates that they can generally move faster as a streamlined machine than as a bipedal or quadruped.

 

I really dislike Jetfire's G1 toy design. Every Jetfire redesign, except for maybe two or three of them, is superior to the Valkyrie design imo.

 

The Valk is a great design, but I associate it more with Robotech than Transformers. That said, Jetfire had better articulation than any other G1 figure before Action Masters. Skyfire was a boring facsimile.

 

I’ve never liked any fictional depiction of Bumblebee. My childhood head-canon version of him— based largely on the tech spec bio— was more interesting (to me) than anything I’ve seen in the media.

 

RotB Wheeljack looks dumb but I don't think BB Wheeljack was a good design. It's like the worst version of "G1 Wheeljack but live-action" imaginable.
Really, I could say that about most of the BB designs.

 

Yeah I think I said something similar about those designs earlier in this thread. For how rushed they were, they work for the purpose of that intro scene but I would want them to be redesigned if they had a bigger role. (just not like...ROTB Wheeljack...)

 

This is still a kids’ property first & foremost, so I’m okay with their language being a basic 1:1 for the English alphabet. For kids, this might literally be the first time they see and discover a coded language like this. Make it easy for them. Save the complex stuff for sci-if that’s geared a little older.

 

I don't even think it's particularly lazy since there's actually about 5 different cipers, one for Autobots, Decepticons, Maximals, and Predacons each, and an "ancient" cyberglyph language from the Bayverse. There might actually be more that I don't remember.

I do remember memorizing the language of the extrasolar aliens that invaded Mars from the best Lego theme, Mars Mission, and thinking deciphering "alien" messages between me and my one other friend who liked that line was the coolest thing ever.

And yes, I did just say Mars Mission is the best Lego theme. Yes, even better than Power Miners.(though it's a close second) How's that for an unpolular opinion?
