Sorry to hear it.. just transformed mine and I'll have to get my Perceptor for a proper comparison but everything appears to tab fine on mine, oddly enough, this is the best figure I've gotten in a fairly long while that isn't loose as hell right out of the box.

One problem with Modulators is that they only did two molds without any real variations other than colors. I'll still take them and Weaponizers over Fossilizers. I don't believe wearing bones can benefit a Transformer.

RiD was just an example of older stuff that hasn't seen an update ever. I'm not saying that the gestalts covered in CW or any of the characters previously done would never need to be done again. What I'm saying is there are a lot of characters who still haven't gotten even a first round, and I think those should have priority over remakes. What I'm saying is: let the remaining characters in G1, JG1, BW/BM, RID, UT etc. get some solid focus and then cycle back. I'd have been a lot more interested in the G1 offerings in Legacy if they been Hosehead, Waverider/Diver, some of the remaining Throttlebots etc. rather than mostly characters who had been done relatively recently. And I don't even think ArmScream really needed a do-over, but I bought it just to support post-G1 getting decent figures. I'd have preferred Red Alert or Cyclonus.

But no, I'm not saying any character previously done in CHUG should never be touched again. That's as stupid as constantly cycling through the same set of characters. One extreme doesn't fix the other.

I would love to see them take another crack at Fall of Cybertron Bruticus using what they've learned about making combiners since its release. Design was so awesome and the toy was so...meh. And that's being generous.

Minicons (and their spiritual predecessors Micromasters/Targetmasters/and even headmasters to a degree) are the best non internalized play feature.

No amount of cool guns is cooler than a tiny buddy who may or may not also be a gun. It means any single figure still has a partner character to soundboard with in an imaginary play scenario.

Soundwave proves that not only do small friends work but are some of the most popular guys in the lore.

I’m putting this in unpopular though because outside of seeing some serious fan vitriol about mini cons over the years the knowledge that Hasbro internally considers them failures is heartbreaking.

If anything, I'd consider part of the failure would be because they didn't invest themselves enough... WFC had just a few molds and it was just recolors, lots of quality issues (floppy as hell).

I've always said that if they were to go and go the whole of the G1 teams/crews really well as micromasters, which would then work really well with titans, etc. they could reboot the whole thing. Seeing how people went for bot-bots, I can see how, if they do them really well, they could be a massive hit.

Forget the core class, go full micro and scale things.

    Bases, ships, full playsets, etc.

No argument from me that it's better. The Rail Racer from Cybertron is better than CW Bruticus, too...

I agree. I only find the Fossilizers fun because you can create mutated animals with them.

My take on the Fossilizers is that they're the lost "Vehicon" equivalent for Beast Wars. Something for the Maximals to tear up on the regular, rather than go the decidedly more slapstick route to keep the violence levels toned down. With that in mind, their weaponizing capabilities are more ad-hoc than fully intentional. Instead, their capacity to be cobbled together into more abstract monstrosities takes precedence.

If autotransforming finger puppets don't make your inner child squeal with delight, you have no joy in your soul. This thing is simple addictive fun in its purest distilled form.
