Alternity should have been 1/24
I'm late to the discussion on this one, but I didn't even realize that Prime was getting new figures. When did that come about?
Personally, I'd be fine if the only one they updated was Airachnid. The others hold up good enough for me.
EDIT: Ok, and Smokescreen.
Alternity > Alternators
I'd take updated versions of Pretenders and Action Masters over anything that was in the cartoon.
On top of that, I'd take any obscure late/JP/Euro G1/G2 updates over any Unicron Trilogy stuff.
Don't get me wrong, I love UT stuff, but...yeah. I completely agree. Love that particularly crazy era of transformers.
For looks and style, most certainly.
For quality, not in the slightest. The only Alternity figure I have is a floppy, fall apart mess.
Those ancient Robot Powered Machines die cast cars were fuckign awesome
I prefer my kidneys intact and my house free of debt thank you
I love my Alternity Dai Atlas! Or rather, I would if I could get that bloody tummy flap to lock in either mode.
Yeah, that mold looks good, but the Seeker mold is a trainwreck.
Cybertron downshift is the best wheeljack toy Hasbro has ever produced
I prefer having parts that are supposed to look like bare unpainted metal be either cast in a dark gray plastic or painted in a metallic silver, flat steel, or flat gunmetal gray paint over having them be painted a gloss gray or gloss white.
I like the low shoulders on Galvatron. Looks like a Floro Dery model. I'll want a correct assembly on Galvatron II, who I think of as the menacing version of Galvatron, but for the purple guy I mostly love because of shit like Webworld? It looks right to me.
Er primes trailer is fine as is and don't need any upgrades to make it better
Recreations of the G1 models should use what the animators tried to replicate rather than 1:1 on screen like with colours and details. Like a new MP Grimlock should use gold paint/chrome and not the crappy yellow colour. Same with Optimus and his white/grey parts should be silver or chrome.
Prefer the white stripe in truck mode
While we're talking Optimus, I prefer his Galaxy Force/RiD15 red, white/grey and black over his traditional red white n blue.
Transformers that turn into “everyday” cars are dumb as hell. If my bots transform, they better transform into the hottest babes on the street. If Transformers start becoming “everyday” cars, are you ready to spend $70 on a Bumblebee that turns into a car like this?
Or would you rather have him become this?
Exactly this, capturing the original design intent is more important that trying to copy what appeared on screen 1:1.
I'd take top over bottom any day, for Bumblebee at least. But I'd take sci-fi/concept vehicles over both, so season 3/4 alt modes (Hot Rod, Kup, Blurr, Arcee, Springer).
Separate names with a comma.
