I think Mark?
It might be Mark, but I'm not completely sure.
They announced who it was back at Pulscon in September when they announced Warden left.
Ankle tilts and adherence to a scale chart from animation that wasn't even internally consistent with itself most of the time does not automatically invalidate a previous figure.
(especially if that figure was from back in the time when build quality still mattered)
Not sure if this is unpopular or not, but MP-18B Streak is so much nicer looking than the regular MP-18.
I’ve been messing with quite a few UT figures lately. They’re not the most articulated, but man are they solid. Some of the newer figures I’m actually a bit scared to transform. The ER datsuns were transformed once and have sat on the shelves since. Those UT figures though I transform multiple times with no fear of breakage.
Am I the only one who wants the upcoming SG Goldbug to be a retool of SS86 Hot Rod? I feel like that mold is closer to the original figure than the Cliffjumper/Bumblebee mold.
You could legit hurt someone with some of those Armada figures.
My cousin beat my brother up with Metroplex's axe once. Left a pretty big bruise.
I legit think the ER Datsun's are beautiful. I also fear they are destined to just crumbled to dust before my eyes. They feel like the flimsiest of plastic shells wrapped around some air.
(and an utter embarrassment to be charging $20/23 deluxe price for)
That thing's big enough to be a roleplay weapon!
My 'unpopular' opinion? I love the designs from Classics 2006 and Universe 2.0 and think they're some damned solid toys. I mean, one thing that's gotta be remembered is there was no guarantee we'd get up to Siege or Earthrise or even Combiner Wars or, hell, Generations! Classics 2006 was originally a filler line between Animated the Transformers:2007! There's every chance it was gonna be a one-and-done deal.
I love Nerfatron, especially in his Takara colors.
that's not "unpopular" that's close to objective truth
(I was happy to replace the turtle-necked Datsun's and navel gazing jigsaw alt mode vanettes with Earthrise though)
It's always modernization > show accuracy for me.
Classic optimus is not a good design
Well ... I'd certainly say that qualifies as unpopular.
And punishable by death.
I only partly agree with this because of the arm kibble. The rest is good for me.
It's downright ugly.
The deluxe sucks, I agree
My perfect toy line would be robot modes styled like pre-Prime Wars CHUG (as in, keeping the general spirit of the G1 design but not following it to the letter and making lots of cool improvements) but keeping the vintage 70s/80s-style vehicle modes (or more cartoon-accurate vehicle modes for the Cybertronian/'futuristic' mode characters). Some of the modernized vehicle modes were cool but a modern car just can't beat an 80s Countach or Corvette or a 70s Datsun 280Z.
(And with the engineering and articulation of WFC/SS86 but the build quality of old CHUG, but that's a pipe dream at this point.)
Separate names with a comma.
