I never transform my transformers unless they're combiners or they have beast mode.
That's interesting. Why so?
I feel like there's a difference between complex and just plain tedious figures.
I think it just stems from my lack of interest in cars or aircrafts like they never really clicked with them that much even as a kid. I love transformers because the concept of a robot transforming into something is cool but I personally never really need to see what they look like in vehicle mode unless they combine then I wanna see the combiner mode cause that's awesome. I've always loved animals so a robot having a beast mode rocks my world but ironically i don't own a lot of beast wars stuff as I feel they're charming sure but outdated for example I love POTP Terrocons.
With the exception of some of the earliest show designs, the Beast Machines Maximals toys were actually pretty good and darned creative.
I hate round bulbous heads with the eyes taking up 60% of the face. Why won't this ugly trend die already?
This is the unpopular toys opinions, not unpopular anime opinions!
Optimus is iconic with the mouthguard. Plus, his head design and overall silouette can be tweaked a lot without losing what makes Optimus iconic. What stands out to casuals about Megatron is "that's the one that turned into the gun, right?"
That, and (apt since this is the unpopular opinion thread) his G1 head is a mess. You have to make it *just right* to make it look good. His g1 overall design really isnt that impressive honestly. I mean, look at Prime, Starscream, Soundwave and Shockwave for example. They've all have various figures but no matter how many changes they make, stylistic flourishes etc, they're recognizable as themselves. But Megatron's basic design doesn't really allow for innovation. There's also the thing about Megatron constantly dying and being brought back or being upgraded into something else.
I don't much care for the head. Besides it's look, it's too big. Rest of the figure is aces to me tho.
*Points to all the chibi-fied toys and hideous funko pops.*
God the Funko Pops and all their ilk. I can’t stand those things. The giant heads are bad enough but the black soulless eyes are just creepy. The only one that looked even halfway decent on was their Jaws figure because , surprise, sharks have black eyes to begin with.
Titan Scorponok should have his toy/Headmasters anime head.
What other heads are there he would have?
Do all people who hate them only look at the old ones? Now those do look bad but now the new ones are so close to who they are trying to imitate it is hugely impressive.
His Rebirth/Marvel comic head. They’re quite different.
Earthrise are the g1 toys I wanted as a kid. I love this new line.
I politely disagree.
Seconded, Mine has a problem where the crotch popes off during transformation
He has a cool look, just had the Breakdown mold I hate.
I completely agree, I hope we get through the last '84 and '85 car bots we need to be updated with the post-Primewars style and a few 86 bots then let's move on For '84 I think we are only missing Jazz, Sunstreaker, and Trailbreaker. '85 I think is Tracks and Inferno. '86, I don't know about you guys, I am fine with just a New Galvatron, Cyclonus, and Scourge.
Sorry man, A Seibertron article highlighted that he is gonna be based on his rebirth head.
I've honestly always been kind of amazed at all of the licenses they're able to acquire for those things.
or is it that the breakdown mold hates you?
one peeve I have, but it's more with people than the toys, and that's those that can't accept the actual toy's name being what it is and must rant on and on about it.
Jetfire and Rubble/Frenzy and the main ones of course.
Get over it, it's Jetfire and not Skyfire, it's on the freaking box. Skyfire was a cartoon copyright thing and nothing more. Rubble/Frenzy was an animation error.
Today's mainline transformers is what we called Knock off's 20 years ago.
Separate names with a comma.
