That’s good to hear. I’m hoping someone (Nonnef, Toyhax, etc) makes a filler piece to smooth-out the back half of the shuttle. I think that’s my only hang-up with the figure having not yet handled it myself.

 

The TR and Siege figures may outclass it in robot mode, but for me Classics/Henkei Astrotrain is the coolest, most charming rendition of the character so far. I find it’s shuttle mode the best-looking compared to the gappy back half of the Siege version and the flat look of TR.

I also love the bullet train mode even if it’s a bit underdeveloped. For me, reimagined/updated designs are almost always more appealing than straight G1 rehashes.

Also, I love the pop of the paint scheme and chrome on the Henkei figure. And all that in the form of a deluxe class!

 

I really like him, but hate that they couldn't do better with the caboose (box accessory).

I can easily think of a way that they could have made it so that it would be
1) Caboose for train
2) rocket boosters for shuttle
3) armour for robot.
4) closures/panels for the back of the shuttle that bugs so many

and still carry the weapons.

Also they could have included a second missile launcher, that's just cheap for them to not have.

 

PREACH! Added bonus is that we got no less than three distinct decos on this one.

 

Beast wars mps are more impressive then g1 mps

I’m honestly kinda shocked by this opinion, and it may be subject to change, but I think Siege leader Prime is a more fun toy than OG Cybertron Prime.

 

Im not happy to say it, but I was very disappointed with MP Blackarachnia. I cant deny the engineering is solid but from the moment I removed it from the box it didnt feel like a 120 figure. I typically havent had issues with MPs other than maybe tracks’s hollowness but man The spider legs were so loose and it felt just overly fragile. I did like the paint. But ultimately I had an innate visceral negative reaction when I handled it. Anyway I only recently “discovered” beast wars and have a new and genuine appreciation for it, but this particular release just isnt for me.

 

I prefer TR Ultra Magnus over the Siege Ultra Magnus.

Siege UM robot mode looks like a brick, and his alt mode can't hold more than one deluxe.

I was just asking in the BW thread what about this figure made it worth almost twice as much as MP Cheetor.

 

Classics Magnus is my go to Magnus for solely one reason: Diaclone deco available. The SECOND they do a Delta Magnus from the CW Magnus mold, I may indeed retire my nekkid Magnus.

 

Still the best Movie Optimus we’ve gotten. All that Chrome really works for me.

 

You know, I don't why people only care about the combined form of the combiner, and throw out thier versions of universe 2 silverbolt and onslaught for dirt cheap, onslaught is a great figure and he's like 12 bucks! also how would you feel if you were just regarded as "some dudes arm" how demoralizing would that be to be only be known as some dudes arm huh? >:[

 

Yeah, I kind of feel that too. She's great, and looks killer in robot mode, but she does seem less solid than previous BW MPs, and doesn't seem to tab together all that well in spider mode. Plus, I've had the issue with most of the ball joints on her spider legs being super loose and popping out.

You know, if they'd used the face plated version of his head, he'd be perfect. Still kind of regret not getting him.

 

Am I the only one who isn't bothered by the hollowness? I'm more bothered by the decision to make all the leaders just voyagers with armour. It makes sense with ultra magnus, and hell, I'll even give them shockwave. I'd much rather have astrotrain be a voyager, or at least have the mass from his armor be actually put in his toy.

Also, I vastly prefer jetfire's toy look over his cartoon look. It's just more interesting. It's a shame Harmony Gold is so stingy about the whole deal. I would get those Toynami Valkyries, but apparently they aren't very good. That and the Hi-Metals are too expensive.

Also also, I think Siege soundblaster's chest is really ugly. Speaking of that mold, I hate his altmodes. The lamppost just looks phoned in, and so does his vehicle mode. I would have just preferred a box thing.

 

I’m with you on just about every point here. I’d like the leader price-point to actually be a full figure, not just a random character with enough accessories to fill out the box. And heck, if they insist on a boatload of accessories, at least pick a character that classically has that many. Don’t make up weird extra parts like Astrotrain and Shockwave. They can’t seem to make up their mind if they’re doing a G1 revival or something new.
