What about a travelling fair based Optimus with a ride/playset Mash up with Dungeons and Dragons, TR Alpha Trion redo as both Venger and Tiamon.

I like base modes, they added another display option and evoke the Micromaster bases.

Also I think everyone being a headmaster was cool and really not a big deal. Titans Return was a “dream come true” toyline for me.

Honestly it was a lot of fun. Micromasters are one of my favorite G1 subthemes. If not my definite favorite.

On topic - I've never transformed my Fort Max now that I'm thinking about it, but I prefer his robot mode to Metroplex any day of the week. Especially once you get a sword for him.

Off topic, what was that from? I can't stop laughing at it.

Back on topic - I'm sure I've posted it in here before, but I was talking about it recently on Facebook and it got stuck in my craw. I will pick Deluxe Brainstorm over Voyager Brainstorm every time. Better colors, good articulation, more stable in my experience, more in scale after the other Headmasters were all rightly Deluxes, and the head manages to evoke both G1 and IDW depending on the artist.

Hm. Generations Metroplex and Fort Max have terrible base modes in my opinion. And they’re too hollow to have a satisfying weight for their size. I really prefer Maketoys Utopia; his city mode isn’t particularly interactive but at least it looks like a city.

But the G1s are still my favorite for both characters.

The new Siege Springer looks better than Thrilling 30 Springer. And yeah, I get that they’re going for different looks.

Backpacks don’t bother me unless they hinder articulation.

As much as I would enjoy new characters, I really don’t mind the continual rehashing of G1.

A Masterpiece Armada Optimus Prime would be something I would probably never buy and I hope it never happens just so they can make something else instead. That being said, I have a feeling it will happen eventually and it will probably be a fantastic design.

I would like Takara to make all the carbots, but I don’t have a NEED for them to do so.

Against my better judgement, I’m probably gonna buy the new Siege Jetfire. He looks so GOOD.

As a child of the '90s who didn't begin to appreciate G1 designs until this time last year, I hope the rehashes don't stop anytime soon.

Again, as a child of the '90s who grew up on Armada, I probably wouldn't buy a Masterpiece Armada Prime either. But if the right 3P decided to make one (keeping my eye Fanshobby), I'd definitely consider it.

Although die-cast has its uses, its one of the most overhyped aspects ATM.

Bigger is not necessarily better, put Siege Leader Optimus next to TR Leader Prime which one would you pick?

I remember it being one at the time he was announced, but it may have just been people being salty about him getting two toys relatively close to each other. I barely had the Deluxe for a few months before I found a friend to sell the Voyager to and I've never looked back.

I was kind of the opposite. As a kid, I vastly preferred the Autobots, and I always wanted Autobots over Decepticons. The only Decepticon I really liked as a kid was Starscream. These days, I love the Autobot and Decepticon characters in equal measure. Bumblebee and Optimus are great, but I do enjoy having this squad, too.

I do like him, but he is very much a downscale and movie-ified Combiner Wars Scavenger. Not as exciting as the whiplash-wielding pogo stick that is Rampage.

    I love the Micromasters!
They're small and have always gotten the shortest straw, but if you look at their personality profiles during the Dreamwave era, they're honestly all unique characters.

I don't have Metroplex. But I do have Fort Max and you are spot on.

My spouse bought me Fort Max for Christmas, and honestly I am embarrassed at the money spent on it because it's just a giant legends class figure - I think some recent Legends figures have been more complex. The base modes are unimaginative, the plastic *bends*, and it is just overall so very disappointing.

The Sourcebooks! I love reading those. I was a sucker for Micromasters before I read those though.

I think we can all agree, whether we like the look or not, that Hightower is one of the wildest, most flabbergasting designs to come out of the franchise.

It’s a giant crane that turns into a velociraptor with treads for feet.
