Nothing wrong with preffering the more interesting Transformers to the 84 guy.
Just because some people hate everything about the post 86 franchise doesn't mean it should go away.
Brainstorm, Galvatron, Computron, Scorponok Octane, Punch and others are all legit cool characters that have their fans and should get more attention in fiction.

I only want to see Scorponok again if he's got his proper (Marvel G1) personality. It was the only time he was ever interesting to me. Brainstorm would be great if he was similar to his personality in Lost Light. Galvatron should be Megatron in a new body, but only if he's in a different mindset, like he's changed the way he operates, or something. I do think there's room for both them and the likes of Prime, Bumblebee, Starscream, etc.

Absoloutly. That's what is great about the franchise, having multiple iterations and options. That said, the 84 guys have plenty of cool characters amung them. It would be nice to see more diversity in a line called generations, though. Horrorcons, Targetmasters, and Power Masters top my list of the undervalued.

They've been doing the 84's for ages now.
    It never stopped.
Or in other words: every toyline is an 84 toyline.
    I don't see that changing.
And they were in the TR line too.
There should always be a line that has only post 86 characters to counter that.
CW and TR were a hopeful evolution.
Now with Siege, it's seems we are back into the downward spiral.
There is demand for toys of post 86 characters on the shelves beside the 84 characters that Hasbro will do anyway.
This elitary era of only 84 characters in all fiction and all toylines should end sooner rather than later.

Firstly, Hasbro is a business. 1984 consistently sells. Therefore, demand. Therefore, supply. I challenge the idea that TR was an 84 rehash. It had most of the original Headmasters. It had the origenal Decepticon Targetmasters. It had Getaway, Octane, Gnaw, Roadburn, Seaspray, Overlord, etc. Even the Optimuses were Power Master and G2 inspired. So, not nearly as 84 as you seem to be suggesting

As a community, we want these more obscure guys. As a community, we don't represent the entire demographic Hasbro is selling to. Name recognition amung children doesn't extend past 86, maximum. And official fiction features plenty of post 84 characters.

Well, then, with that ratio, it is hardly 84-centric, which was my point. And out of the 84-85 guys, Kickback, Brawn, Seaspray, and Alpha Trion didn't have solid CHUG updates. Should they have not gotten new toys because they were pre-86?

Additionally, Cosmos was just a rerelease of his T30 figure.

Your point still stands but Topspin and Twin Twist are '85.

If it seemed like I was defending Hasbro giving us so much early G1, I apologize. That was not my intent. I know we would buy more post-85 if we were given it. I was simply stating that, for now, Hasbro is in a stable money cycle, so they won't likely break it.

    Scale shouldn't matter.

I am so darn sick of every discussion about SS turning into an utter mess because people start bickering about scale.

...I thought that the SS were all scaled more or less? Didn't realize it was a big issue.
