Thank you. Anytime I hear the word "scale" I cringe....apparently no one actually watched g1.....or played with the toys....did we forget about g1 blaster?

If you want vehicles that scale, I suggest getting the hell out of the Transformers franchise, because it's never going to scale.
Perhaps you'd like masterpiece more, but with that still going Transformers are well known not to scale at all.
These are not unpopular "opinions", these are mindless rants about something that has been going on for 31 years now. Transformers will never scale perfectly. Anyone who's been in the collecting business knows this.

It's an extintion of my hatred that this is an idw figure, we need a g1 magnus, not the OCD cop from MTMTE.

3rd Party stuff is not worth the price.
MP's are not as good as everyone says they are. Honestly I only paid £30 for Grimlock. That was enough.
Generations toys based on IDW's stuff are the way to go.
Ultra Magnus IDW style is going to be awesome. Stuff the cab separation.
Simpler transformations (e.g. CW toys - not 1 or 3 step) are much more fun than the "oh dear lord it's going to take me 8 months to transform this" overcomplicated movieverse toys.

I'll admit that it's a bit expensive, but considering Masterpiece Ultra Magnus is exactly this, I'd say there's more than enough room for both.

I don't care for Masterpiece toys, the only ones that entice me are the weird redecoes and remolds: Year of the Horse Optimus Prime, G2 Lambor & Bumble, Exhaust, etc.

Of course it's not going to scale "perfectly" but my word. It's like they went out of their way to make it out of scale. I would have at least liked him to be between 1/30 and 1/40 scale. But no, they have to scale it to 1/144. Why? The heck if I know! If they'd just molded proper doors and details it would have fit. A deluxe jet I can excuse and just keep it out of my collection. But when a semi truck is appropriately sized but is molded with too small details, I'm going to be ticked. This guy won't even scale with Hot Wheels cars, Cyberverse stuff!

I wanted to like this figure, so flippin bad. I was so excited to see we'd be getting a Leader Ultra Magnus, and even when I saw the pictures at first glance I liked it. But these little things I have issue with (permacab, 1/144, Minimus) they all just added up. This thing could have been perfect and Hasbro just had to screw it up.

I know it's an unpopular opinion, hating the figure, but I know it could have been so much more. It could have been fantastic without fault, but those little things just completely spoil that.

an optional pack in toy, and an easily ignorable door makes it a deal breaker? ...wow

Minimus admittedly isn't a big deal. But the door is not "easily ignorable". I'm going to know its there. Even when I'm not looking at it I'll know that wart is there.

I hate the Combiner Wars, all of it. Nothing but cheap crap to sate the masses. Nothing comparable to 3P Combiners.

Seconded. I would have liked to see where they would have taken it if the line continued on.

Well you know IDW is pretty good. Sure some of their stuff is really stupid (Prowlvestator, Arcees backstory) but Magnus is probably one of the best interpretations of the character.
Also you do know that Generations is IDW Toys. I just want more IDW toys and less G1 figures.

Oh and Ramjet, you're obsessing with a door and a ladder. That's not really significant detailing at all. Take some white play dough or clay and cover it up.

i think classics fits that bill the most, i mean, who needs geewun :p

also if they were fads, why am i still on this site? :lol  (ive been a fan since armada)

i think g1 had no excuse for being crappy, and anyone who likes a g1 brick, but hates something just because it doesn't have knees, is a giant hippocrate
