G1 post 1986>>>>>>>>>pre 1986
One Step Changers are cool af.
hell yes, I had a chance to play with some of them and they make good desk toys
I really need to buy a few of them to keep at work or something
It's like the whole combiner thing.
I was bummed out when Ironhide took Bruticus out in TAAO with a wellaimed shot.
But it was a lot more realistic warfare than combining your own team to duke it out with five guys who were dumb enough to just make themselves a bigger target.
Thank you!!!!! All of the toy designs from after 1986 are much cooler, such as Ultra Magnus and Hot Rod. Plus, I prefer the characters over those from 1984.
One Step changers are also really fun toys as well. They're quick and I don't have to spend 5 minutes transforming a figure when I'm formulating a story.
On another note:
A lot of chug toys have better articulation than a lot of official MP's
Exactly! Even the gimmicks were awesome. Headmasters, Duocons, Six Changers, Pretenders, etc. Just way cooler toys.
And definitely. I really wish they had those when I was younger. I remember being frustrated as a kid that I'd spend 10 minutes trying to figure out a transformation and then just get bored and walk away. LOL
I dunno about post-86 being better than pre-86. But I do know that One-Step changers for G1 characters?
I'd throw my entire back account at Hasbro for that.
I HATE MP36. I respect it for the engineering but I never want it in my collection.
I like Prime Airachnid's figure.
I like the TLK Bumblebee repaint in Wave 1 more than the Wave 3 Bumblebee. I like the face sculpt better, the yellow paint is more consistent, and the arm of the figure has an actual flip-out Cannon feature.
The 2007 and the ROTF Leader class Megatron isn't the worst movie Leader class figures ever made. For me, that'll be ROTF Jetfire.
ROTF/UNI 2.0 Silverbolt is a better representation of the character than the CW version. The Energon mold may not be as close to his traditional look as the combiner wars release but all those liberties taken make for Concorde jet that effectively uses the mass of robot mode rather then having a mech that is bolted to the underside of otherwise sleek alternate mode. Granted both have a bit of kibble in the back but the ROTF redeco has a far block when compared to the CW version's awkwardly folded together parts of leftover jet mass.
i think we need to close down this thread now....this is the ultimate unpopular opinion. this is the top of the mountain gang...no other unpopular opinion can top this...
The problem of the third party forums in a nutshell.
I hate skyfire design, i like jetfire's miles of times above.
Nothing against people who like potp starscream , but Isnt it easier if they used tr slugsliger as a base mold.
I mean .. trigger happy's arm minor retool and you'll have null rays , just cut out the dual cockpits on slugslinger's back and replace with topspin's dual pointy plane things , make the cockpit belly more similar to a seeker ... and you kinda have a seeker mold with a good solid base ? Then just ride it out in wave 5 with all the recolours . I mean they already have a starscream facesculpt from takara's octane
Of course they could make a better looking Starscream, but don't forget the voyager gimmick is combiner torso again.
The Hasui masterpieces are fantastic, and the Kobayashi masterpieces are fantastic.
which i'm interested to see....honestly i like the new starscream but i'll view it as a missed opportunity to exploit his smugness if his combiner head isn't just his own head with the crown and the combiner itself isn't named king starscream.
i mean what else would it be?
I agree. I'm honestly surprised when the Cyclonus/Galvatronus torso came out, they skipped the opportunity to give him a bunch of seeker limbs. I mean, the UW Ghost Starscream was one, and looked great!
