    Brothers!

I also agree with the MP thing, it actually kinda drives me up the wall when people put them in the same category as toys, when they're obviously not. They're models, really.

    - I don't like Transformers Animated
    - All Transformers Movie toys are crap, especially AoE
    - I love the story and design of IDW's Arcee (Spotlight)
    - MP-01 is a better figure than MP-10

Same. I tried reading More than Meets the Eye but I simply couldn't get into it. Every character seemed to be varying degrees of "HEY KIDZ WE'RE ALL WACKY CARTOON CHARACTERS but we're also tortured and complex BRIEFCASES QUESTS WHAT LASER GUN SWERVE'S BAR!!!!!"The way I see it, MTMTE is just Transformers: Animated for fans who are still bitter about Animated being cancelled (the artwork even invokes Animated sometimes, especially Nick Roche's).

By contrast I read through a lot more Robots in Disguise comics before eventually stopping, and they were okay. I really liked most of the characters (Ironhide, Starscream, Sky-Byte and Metalhawk being my favourites) and some of the political commentary was well done. Though from what I hear most IDW fans actually hate RID. Either way, I have no plans to return to IDW any time soon.

    Complex Transformations piss me off.

TFCC Scourge is just such a hassle to turn into vehicle mode EVERYTHING needs to be perfectly aligned and his wheels need to be perfectly placed so it rolls well. That's not clever that's not solving a puzzle that's overly designed for no reason.

When I read that in my head, it sounded like an into to an old nick cartoon. :lol

    I like Japanese Airachnid's personality.

On screen, they're super cool. As a toy? Not so much.

There's a good line, the hard part is just where it is.

I really liked the fact TFP got an actual OPENING in Japan, three of them. Even got an ending to go with the credits. Sure it's J-Pop, but it's fun. Meanwhile the US gets an entirely generic opening and then S3 gets a slight variation to their opening. Ugh.

The japanese dub of TFP is actually a gem to watch.

Oh yes the Movieverse excels at awesome on screen Transformation! that's the only place Complexity looks fun imo.

And that actually segways into something I wanted to point out as a similarity between G1 and the Movie-verse both series have toys with Real Earth Alt modes yet have character models that are very hard to match with a Transformer so you have to settle with "Close enough"

I think the Japanese version of TFP should have gotten a theme similar to that of EVO from the Japanese dub of TFA because it would've fit into the cinematic nature of the show more.

    Awwww YEAH.

    Ahem.

But yeah, RiD is actually the comic I like the most because it involves Earth so much. Regardless of how much fans may get annoyed, Earth (and by extension, humanity) are an integral part of the franchise. You can't just erase them from the story entirely.

I hate the fact that the japanese opening for TFA, as well as the transformation sequences? Are better animated and smoother than the actual show.

Also, unpopular opinion: I don't think TFA needs a S4. Fans keep clamoring for it like somehow it's presence will jumpstart the show all over again. No. Let it go, it's done.

    Agreed on all counts.

Hell yeah. Frankly she's far more terrifying in Japanese than in English, plus she's voiced by Satsuki Kiryuin YOU PIIIIGS IN HUMAN CLOTHING!

I agree the clips they used in the intros are awesome.

The seiyu performances are pretty great too, though Satoshi Tsuroka was really miscast as Starscream, he makes Starscream sound way too unhinged and derp sounding. That being said Toshiyuki Morikawa and Keiji Fujiwara were great as Optimus and Megatron respectively.

    This. All the way.

While the Japanese dub is easy to make fun of at times, it does bring some cool stuff to the table. Like music. And Yanderes.

Earlier today I was looking through Matt Moylan's Lil Formers comic strips on Deviant Art, and I was quite surprised reading the comment section on the strip where Drift meets Windblade. There are a lot of folks taking offence to Windblade being called "fan-fiction-y" and labelling Matt Moylan sexist.

I personally don't like Windblade very much, and it has nothing to do with disliking female Transformers (I don't). Everything about her just screams "Fan-character from Deviant Art", but it seems quite a few fans are racing to Windblade's defence and saying you have to like her because she's a fembot, Transformers is a gender issue and you're sexist if you disagree with us. To Hell with that.
