Hasbro launched a press release today that they will be having a "Power of the Primes Fan Vote" in January where we get to vote on the next Prime who will lead Cybertron in the associated fiction and who will also get a new figure in the PotP toy line:

So of the names I've supplied in this impromptu vote, who's your pick and why?

I voted "Other"... Cause I want a new original character that takes up the mantle of Prime... And they are a FEMALE Prime too.

 

I chose other and my pick would be Windblade. I want to watch the world burn.

 

I also picked Windblade because she has had poor characterization. Whereas characters like Grimlock, Ultra Magnus and Starscream are totally not one-dimensional. And also to watch the world burn.

 

This is the toy discussion my friends.

It isn't just about seeing a new character get some attention in the fiction.

It's also about what character should get a new figure.

To me, the only answer is Grimlock.

Grimlock would not only be cool as a Prime in the fiction, but if you look at the figures he's received in the last several years, he desperately needs a main-line update.

 

It should be [insert inane character] obviously.

 

New character. I feel like we need to get someone new have the lack of character curse.

 

I don't think it's going to work that way.

Hasbro is going to have us vote on different categories that have predetermined characters in them.

Once the category is chosen, the characters in that tier will go head to head in another vote for the winner.

 

Vote 1: Maximus Prime!

 

Being more serious about this, maybe it would be fun if we only voted on specific characteristics that eventually narrowed the choice to a specific character.

Yeah.

I highly doubt that ordinary characters are going to be in the pole. Grimlock? Sure. Ratchet? No.

I'm hoping some of the other Japanese G1 post-S3 will be included because I would SO vote for Star Saber.

 

I voted for Sunstreaker, but dang Sky Lynx would make the best Prime.

 

Much as I'd dislike to, I have to issue a donald trumpian "WRONG!" to this. We don't know who the candidates are yet. A better poll would be to guage how fans feel about the "Honor Chaos or Order" Choice Hasbro is going to give us.

 

Star Saber. I really want a classics version of him and then someone (HasTak, 3P) will do Victory Leo. It'll be cool, I swear

 

Other: I want to see Overlord and Dezaras come in and take over, prompting Rodimus and Megatron to eventually have to show them the backside of Fortress maximus' gigantic hand.

 

Because Lambor Prime just sounds all kinds of awesome.

 

Because he already is/was a Prime in the cartoon.
