So, is this project the next Transformers thing to be offered through HasLab crowdfunding?

Still no news? Hasbro, why you holding up our childhood nostalgia fix? :(

This also seems like a bad sign. How badly did they treat @brr-icy to get him to give up collecting altogether?

Until we hear otherwise, I'm going to assume Hasbro's legal treatment of him left such a sour taste he doesn't even want their products in his house anymore. :p

After three years of 40+ hour weeks working on the books, yeah it did leave a sour taste. I kept a few mps, but yeah, the passion is pretty much gone. The main reason i sold was because i moved to Guatemala. The collection funded that. Just needed a total change.

Bummer, man. What a shame about the project. Many of us were looking forward to it. Has/Tak will probably put out an inferior book, if they do one.

So are the books totally dead?

There were some hints earlier that they might not be....

Its baffling that the Alvarez peeps have published the unofficial guide to transformers for years, but this project got shutdown.

I mean...the work is done? So why not pick it up and put it on the pulse as an official crowd fund?

Hasbro have a weird approach to making money. See it all the time in the UK with how badly everything seems to be managed by Hasbro International or whatever its called now.

I'm sorry it didn't work out, it was such a great idea. I hope you are happy with your new life in Guatemala.

The way they've treated the G1 Masterpiece line is another example of that.

Wow, man. Best of luck with your future endeavors. Sorry it went the way it did. We're all deprived of something great as a result of their decision to squash this but the work you put into it must have been tremendous. What a kick in the nuts from the company that should have recognized and appreciated your effort the most.

    Yikes!!

With all that work that you put on with Branden and others on this project, and the hoops that everyone has encountered just slammed the doors shut.

I can see why you needed a change of pace for specific reasons. Godspeed on your new endeavors in Guatemala! From North of the 49th Parallel to Central America is a huge jump.

Step 1: Move to planetary system beyond the grasp of the Hasbro Empire
    Step 2: Find rebel publisher
    Step 3: ...
    Step 4: Profit!

Any hope of releasing the digital assets online for us to dabble with? The photos were stunning.

Sad to hear that you've had to have a total change of scenery (but sometimes it's for the best). It's always sad to read about collectors stopping/reducing collections. Especially the more well known collectors in the community. Good Luck with everything!

    re: photographic archive
I've been following/ supported this since the kickstarter and have always been hopeful that it'll be someday released in some format.
Very sad to keep hearing about the setbacks etc. I'm not familiar with how it all works, especially when you see other publishing groups/ppl releasing similar type things.
I'm guessing it's all around licensing etc and the headaches it brings. Got really mad about when I read that a mock copy was stolen from one of the cons you guys attended too!

Anyway, holding onto hope that'll it'll happen one day, and that you guys get recognized for your efforts.

    Take care of yourself ;)

Hasbro sucks! They stole these books from us! I will never forgive them.

Sorry to hear about that- it's totally understandable. Just know that, even if we can't see all the work you put into it, we DEFINITELY appreciate the effort. That book set looks fantastic, and the reason it stands out beyond all the other books so far is because of the passion you had. I hate that Hasbro stomped on it.
