Spotted this today during the DC fight, right before the WM truck gets scanned. Looks like a Car Carrier under police escort booking it outta there! Minus the trailer though, ive never seen any emt vehicles that look like this and its too short to be a ladder truck. So do you guys think its possible? Given he was going to be in the movie, we even get to see his face( the astronauts un cover it in the moon)

It rolls beside the WM truck with the cops in front of it, sorry if the pics are too small   if anyone does know what kind of truck it is please lemme know.

 

The astronauts uncover Sentinel's Prime face on the moon. Ultra Magnus was a working name for Sentinel Prime.

 

I'm not seeing it. All I can make out is a large truck driving down the road. Nothing that suggests "car carrier" stands out to me.

Ultra Magnus was a working name for Sentinel Prime, yes. However that wasn't his face. Sentinel was sealed inside the crash vault, which was unopened and unsearched until Optimus and Ratchet arrived. Plus the face was covered in dust and right where Neil and Buzz entered the ship. Sentinel was deeper inside and dust-free.

 

Unless I'm reading too much into it, it's the exact same head that the eye flickers and gets into the opening credits. Again, reading too much into it, but the eye turns on [blue] which indicates him being at least alive while all the other bots were declared dead. I know the topology seems wrong, but isn't it the same head?

 

no the head in the sand is not Sentinel himself BUT it is his Original Ultra Magnus Head

 

I see him.....but If that IS UM....that makes him a bad guy.....right?

All I know is this:

- face in the trailer (where the camera goes into the eye) IS Sentinel Prime, just coloured differently to the way he is in the final film, probably to avoid any spoilers...

- the face in the sand is just a miscellaneous Autobot who died when the Ark was attacked/crashed. If anyone has any soucres or evidence to the contrary (ie that it's actually Ultra Magnus) then I would love to see this.

Really, I just think people are reading too much into something that's not there.

There's definitely a cab-over there, but it doesn't appear to be pulling anything. If it's anything more than just a random truck going down the road (which it probably is just that), I would say it's a nod to G1 Optimus.

 

But I think the head that the astronauts dusted kind of resembled Optimus, except it was covered in white...

 

What you guys are seeing there is a police Swat van/truck that is almost the same make as the Decepticon Bank truck. It has the cage-like extras on it. It is the same make as the one the police get out of in the pillar scene with Megs and Sentinel on the building. Its not a Truck or Magnus.

 

the dust head was the nod to Magnus and was added in later after they decided to change Magnus to Sentinel for the movie.

 

Okay, watched the entire thing again.

The head they stumble upon in sand\dust is NOT Sentinel's head. The astronauts make it to the entrance of Sentinel's vault.

How the F*CK that random head is his "Original Ultra Magnus" head is beyond me. You're reading waaaaaay too much on a preliminary name. It's like saying you think Shockwave is Blitzwing because that's how he was called pre-production wise.

 

Forget the truck I got the head in the sand info from THIS site, its the cg render for UM. Sentinel Prime was an running change. I can't find the link, but wasn't it Josh Nizzi himself who said it was UltraMags's head?

There was a specific article here on TFW which spoke about the trailer as well as concepts. It mentioned that the face in the sand/dust was the original concept of face that was going to be used for Ultra Magnus, but was later changed to Sentinel, and they changed his face. So they threw in the concept as a little nod to what it was supposed to be. Just a little easter egg.

 

This. I know for a FACT that is the original design for the head of Ultra Magnus. I just have no idea where an article about it is.
