Smart idea. I'm considering getting some Bionicle pieces and trying to make a Dark of the Moon Devcon. I think it could fit with the Bionicle aesthetics.

So, look at all those weapons on the wall. Remember when Cade is in the Knight Ship and it's decorated with weapons of all kinds? Yeah that was cool, say what you will about AOE and TLK but the art design was top-notch and I wish to evoke it especially with this subsection of the fortress, an ancient armoury filled with weapons from all over the cosmos.
I bought a ton of fake moss, I emptied that stuff from my craft store. Any place you see the "green plant parts" is where moss will be applied.

In other news the large tower has been wiped down, primed and is now nice and gray. I've got silvers, metallic paints and a few flat paints. When it's done I'm going to apply a wash, which will soak into the space in between each brick, recreating the techno-fantasy look perfectly.

Here's some wicked concept art I used for inspiration.

Paint's drying, thought I'd share an update on the war room.

I'm going to put the globe in front of a throne and the other Cons can gather around it. The throne in question is another one of my projects and the globe is a patchwork of parts (Darth Vader Death Star bottom, Lego parts and a Christmas gift casing) the globe will be translucent, I'm using the metal ball as a mold.

Dark and foreboding… looks good so far! Do you plan on doing any weathering to it, or just picking out details?

Well, you can't see it but I've damaged, cut and slightly burned some parts. I plan on giving this thing a nice metallic paint job and once I'm done it'll recieve a heavy wash and I'll deck it out with some fake moss.

Thanks for the compliment, this one coat used up most of a can.

    Daily update time!
Polished off the black primer, waited and applied a coat of grey. It isn't necessary by any means but a blind fool like me needs it to help pick out details. I'm ordering some paints tonight.

It looks weirdly angelic like this.

The primer looks weird in the last photo, it's just the shadows of the garage.

Got some crimson paints, some sand and some Elmers glue. Gonna be a tedious and messy night. That's a hint as to what planet this thing is going to be "canonically" set on.

The end is nigh with this project, plus my job is fairly light in the months of January and February so I'm getting a lot done. Got some GW "mars" paints coming soon so I can get that "scorched martian wasteland" look.

Might as well throw in some inspiration, this project's final form was inspired by the "Mars Base" from Reign of Starscream but with some personal flourishes.

It just keeps getting better. Another thing I personally think I would look cool (Of course, you don't have to listen to me) is use a sponge brush in the hallways and closed off arches with white and black paint, with most of it pressed out. I used it on my Steelbane custom and it gives a pretty cool mildew look and gives the impression the area is humid and stuffy, and I think it would fit very well in an area with moss growing on it. Just an idea :)

The mall , and fill it with Botbots.

    Or a space Bar.
    Or Unicrons belly.

Just a chunk of Cybertron would be nice for future diarama shots.
Would paint it all blue or purple with a darker shade with oily blacks for weathering .
Then sprinkle with yellowgolds and LEDs for detail & lighting.

Could prob work a whole $10 15ft LED lightcable you get from walmart through it.

Well with the Botbots, I'm gonna sprinkle them around the base, the implication being that they were scooped up in the hopes of getting new soldiers but to Megatron's disappointment they don't care about war or combat and just have fun and hijinks. Thankfully SS Megatron is capable of facepalming.

I've got an idea to integrate Cybertron by building a space bridge playset, the other side of the portal would open up to Cybertronian environment and would allow for other planets to be potentially linked to the playset, Nebulos, Junkion, Earth, The Colonies and possibly Unicron's innards.

I've got plans and more Lego to use up.

Well, it turns out the Lego is drying up, in terms of blocks. All that remains is specialized parts. It will go on however, I'm looking at Games Workshop terrain and battlefields to continue.

It's up in the air but...... I might be working on a Necron tomb citadel into a freaking Cybertron playset. It will warrant its own thread when the time comes though.

One of the towers is fully painted, will definitely post more pics tomorrow. Got the sand effect working and it looks fantastic.

Painting is done for the most part. Topping off any remaining bits tomorrow then a few coats of varnish.

    Oh my.

Hopefully Siege Omega Supreme turns into a base so the Autobots can have a counterpart to this.
