I agree, small changes like a head sculpt and a good paint ap can make an entirely new figure.

I love this, I'll have to snap a few pics of my original G2 skyjack for comparison.

Can't wait to order this! Keep up the amazing work Venksta, you rock.

Thanks guys for the feedback. This will be the last major update until I try casting. I'll let you guys know if the sets are a go or not, sometime next week.

I'm going to cast the G1 axe first. Its simple enough as a first try at casting. Waiting for the WD version, should be in by friday. If that works, I'll go on and try casting this set, and see how that turns out. And yes, I am planning to invest in my own printer. :)  All my latest commission works are for models being printed. As for printers, it seems the ones that make the White Detail material, are the higher end printers. The cheaper ones available, like the desktop printers, produce objects in the WSF material. I rather get the higher end one, but it will be awhile until I have enough. :\

I'm planning to include the following in the set for Skyfall:

    1x helmet (2 pieces)
    2x rifles
    1x red visor
    1x yellow visor

    :)

I've always wondered something, when you make a model for shapeways how do you tell what size the finished item will be?

    Thanks. :)

In your 3d program, you have to model the object to a specific unit of measurement. I go with millimeters. But centimeters and inch work as well. Once you got the model done, you select the scale on the upload page at shapeways, and it should upload to the size you intend it to be at.

Sir, I believe if you can produce products of this quality and design consistently....well I don't think money will be that great of an issue. I know you've allready got me sold on the Mega Mace and Skyfall upgrade set. Allready looking forward to whatever else you have coming down the pipe :)

Out of curiosity, are you working in Rhino, Solidworks, or something else entirely?

I don't own Skyfall, he wasn't even on the shelves where I live, but I'm still set to pre-order when this becomes available.

I really like this. If I can still find a Skyfall, then I might buy a set.

Guess I'll give a quick update. I made my first rubber mold, using my G1 energon axe. It turned out pretty good I think. I tried casting, but I'm having issues with it. Hoping to get it solved in the next couple of days. Once I figure that all out, I should have a big update, hopefully, by March 1st. :)

This looks amazing, and easily falls into the category of threads I wish I'd seen sooner! I originally bought Skyfall 'cause I liked the homage, but I haven't been able to justify putting him up on my Classics shelf since his head looks nothing like Skyjack. But this, THIS fixes everything and looks absolutely fantastic!

So yeah, consider me yet another person who is definitely interested!!

Spent the last two weeks learning to make molds and doing castings with my g1 energon axe. Finally got it to work a couple days ago, as I was having issues getting the translucent axe to be bubble free. This also helped me, as now I know how to cast Skyfalls visors. I'm also learning that doing this stuff is not easy at all, and can not be rushed. Anyways, this delayed my plans by 2 weeks. But I think I should have a batch ready for sale by the middle of the month. I'll make an update next week when I start on the molds.
