Universe Ratbat= Shockwave custom?

    I wish I could find the Springer vs Rabat set or Roadbuster vs Dirge haven't found a single one in any Target in RI. I was looking at some pictures and I was thinking Ratbat could make a good Shockwave custom. Replace/modify the head and paint the gold bits silver, plus modify the hand into a cannon (If it can be done) and you will have a more-than-decent Shockwave.

    are you suggesting this for other kitbashers, or do you need a ratbat? If so i have one i'll sell you, its pretty much unused.

    Just as an FYI, this 2-pack was out some time ago and you're extremely unlikely to find one in an actual Target store. I have a Springer for sale but I am keeping the Ratbat :)

    I don't think the Springer is bad per se, but I like Energon Bulkhead as my classics Springer. In particular, I like the alt mode much more.

    I'm kinda partial to universe springer. Yeah, the mold is played out and the alt mode should be futuristic, but I think the robot mode is a pretty good representation. Also, the mold itself is pretty good in the first place.

    I know, they were released in December I think but they were a Target Exlusive. Well, off to Ebay I guess. If I get a hold of one I'll definetely make it into a Shockwave. But does anyone have a suggestion for a head? This is the second custom I'll make after my failed movie Barricade redeco as a real Saleen Mustang.

    Hmmm... Personally, I think the Ratbat is too pink and too small to really be an effective Shockwave, but that's all a matter of opinion.

    The fists are in C-sockets, so you can pop them out pretty easily -- you could conceivably replace a hand with a gun and have it be relatively unobtrusive in vehicle mode, no problem.

    The head might be a bigger problem, as the "horns" on the head become an active part of the vehicle nosecose, and the head has to be very small and flat to fit within the compartment in alt mode. Though Ratbat naturally only has a "nonface", so it's not TOO far off the mark already...

    Why not just pick up a loose Purple Target animated Shockwave? He's my classics standin, since he's lanky and alien enough to not really have an earth mode, and he's suitably towering over ALL of my other classics...

    we have these in Zellers stores here, FLOOOOOOODDDDDINGGGGG the shelves at incredible mark up price. i think we have over 20 of each. they are preventing any new transformers toys from being stocked.
