Venksta, this is outstanding work. I just wish there were a Marvel visor, with the border and the triangular eyeholes. I like what you've done with the cartoon and IDW faces, but I would absolutely need to own a Marvel one.
Well, for the Marvel face, thats why I made the visor flip down. As when looking at the design from the old comics, it seemed to me Blaster pulled his visor down...
Thanks guys for your continued feedback. I hope to have some new prototype photos later this week. Steeljaw is currently a personal project. He is a project, that shows how expensive shapeways can get. Hes just a bit bigger than Classics Ravage, and will cost over $100 to make on Shapeways, in a material that is good enough for casting. If I did cast him, he would probably cost maybe $30 or more, due to assembling and painting up just one. I will look into making a model kit version, it should be cheaper and easier to make.
Been busy with life, and trying to get Skyfall out the door. This Blaster kit is next in line. So once I start shipping out the Skyfall kits, Blaster will be put on the fast track.
Stunning work. I especially like how after some comments you decided to rework the head to better reflect the aesthetic of the Cybertron toy. I think it makes the final product more cohesive, and you should be proud of your willingness to accept honest critique and use it to better the final product! I realize I'm a bit late to the party, but I'd love to get one or both once the final product is ready. ::tries to jam dollar bills into keyboard:: How do I give you my money ?
At the moment, Steeljaw is not planned at all, and the guitar won't be part of the kit. The main kit will be 1 "classics" helmet with visor, 1 "cybertron" style helmet visor, 2 different faces, and his gun. I might do the guitar in a very limited run, as an addon. For steeljaw, hes too expensive for me to have a prototype made. Alot of people have asked for him, but since he isn't transformable, I probably won't release him as a finished item. Maybe a model kit instead, down the road. For the Blaster kit, until I'm taking money and shipping the kit out the next day, it won't be late to get on the "preorder" list. I'll be using this thread as the actual preorder list, so everyone that has or will post their interest here, will get first dibs on the finished kit.
I guess I can share this info. The guitar will probably cost half of what the kit costs, due to the size and volume of it. Also, it will probably come with reprolabels to make it stand out, like chrome strings, and a white outline on the sides.
Your Blaster heads look pretty fantastic. I can't wait to see the finished product. I'm definitely interested in getting one when they're available.
