Completely random thought that I'd throw out and see if anyone else agreed with...

Universe Blaster, a Cybertron Soundwave redeco, looks way to "militaristic" and "evil" to be the Blaster we all know and love. This Blaster looks plain mean.
But then we've got the Shattered Glass universe coming up at Botcon. Autobots gone bad, Decepticons turned heroes mirror universe stuff. In this universe, Blaster would be evil. In this universe, it would make sense for Blaster to be a militaristic bomber jet.

Anyone else feel the same way? If I pick up Universe Blaster, that is the shelf I might put him on.

I see where you're going, but I would think for Universe Blaster to fit in esthetically, he'd need a darker more subdued color scheme. Not necessarily reversed but something darker. Even the white on botcon 08 Jazz is more of a grey. As for the mold choice yeah I could definately see that working for Shattered glass Blaster.

Never thought of it like that, but that's not a bad theory. Esp since Universe's "raison d'etre" is to encompass other lines and not exclusively Classics. Good call.

    That's a really cool idea.

I didn't dig the choice of mold, especially without a new head--but that works perfectly!

I halfway agree with you, but actually I think Universe Blaster makes a much better "Shattered Glass Soundwave" than anything else.

I can't take credit for the idea... I believe it was BeastbotX who proposed it in one of the Botcon threads.

But I think it makes perfect sense. After all, Mirror Universe Starscream essentially took the colors of his opposite/nemesis Autobot, Jetfire. So there is a precedent for Mirror Universe Soundwave to take the colors of HIS Autobot nemesis, Blaster. And the Heroic Decepticons could use the support, as it's looking like they will be fairly outnumbered by the Evil Autobots.

Not to mention, Shattered Glass Starscream and the rumored Megatron are both Voyager-sized 'bots who turn into futuristic aircraft... just like Universe Blaster. And hey, you wouldn't even have to come up with a new name for the minicon, if would just be Heroic Laserbeak.

When Blaster does get released, I'm planning on having Reprolabels make up some red Decepticon stickers for me, and then he's going right in with the Shattered Glass Decepticons. :)

I'll probably pick him up, not as a Shattered Glass character, but to repaint into a movie version of Soundwave. I missed the mold the first time around, and now's my chance.

I suppose it makes more sense to why he looks that way than for him to simply be G1 Blaster.

Good points, there. I really didn't like him for Classics, but I agree with you.

And the heroic Decepticons could use a reinforcement.

Not good as a Classic, but definately a fit in the "Shattered Glass" set.

I'm leaning more toward the Shattered Glass Soundwave crowd.

I'm also wishing reprolabels would create Shattered Glass colored faction symbols -- red Decepticon insignias and purple Autobot logos.
