Looks good, so I may get it if I can find one. I don't have a G1 Prime so I might as well

    Cool set, but very overpriced.

Consider last year's Masterpiece Prime (US)

Since I've never had the original, short stacks or not, definitely a buy for me. Besides, a little silver tube non-invasive modding will make that a thing of beauty.

Oooof. That's not cheap. But I have all of the orginal comics, 2-20 (missing #1) and... I never got the original Prime. So I guess I'll have to get this.

What do you guys think, will this get discounted for the holidays?

Either way, I'll have to get this I guess... One wallet shall stand, 70 bucks shall fall.

I have to say that's the best Universe box art we've gotten so far. I hope those who want this toy are able to find one! Let the 25th celebration begin! W00t! :)

Yeah the box art is very very nice.

That might be worth it alone. We'll see.

First TF sighting in a while that's ridiculously close to me, and it's absolutely nothing I want. :(

I'll wait til it goes down to like $15 for clearance.

That's one figure that won't roll out of the shelves... or will it? It's too much for me to want one.

I usually don't complain about retail prices but...wow. That is a bit steep.

    Pass.
    Don't get me wrong.
It looks great, but for that kind of cash
    i'd want something i don't have yet.
I bought the original when it first came out.
    I have the comic.
I have the episodes on dvd.
    I really don't need it.

I don't know how kids and their parents will go for this.
It seems to be more a collector piece than a kids toy.

I bet it's going to be like the Masterpiece starscream. you Had a good enough chance at finding that as you did looking for a pre-realse figure under $100. Im hoping the price will repel most buyers. Luckily I have 77$ in my account, so i'll be on the look out!

    Hello All!

I think that the $69.99 for this is a good price point. A friend reminded me the other day that the TRU Prime was $39.99 when it was released, so this may be the better deal w/DVD, Marvel #1 comic, and all the extras (if you care about that stuff) with respect to the TRU version. While this set is a bit pricy, it is a great display box with Prime proudly positioned in the foreground, surrounded by the extra stuff. And, at $69.99. he is possibly less than any MISB G1-esque Optimus Prime that you can find on Ebay.

This is most definately a BUY for me as I really like the display. I sold all of my G1 Japanese Reissue Primes over the last several months (having a hard enough time completing a US collection as it), so I am kinda looking forward to this one. Saying that, this is the last time I will buy an Optimus reissue...unless Hasbro decides on a Nemesis Prime w/red windows and red eyes. But, that, is a different story :thumbs2:

they rerelease prime every year practically, and this fascination hasbro has of orange red eye blistering brightness with soft and huggable blue really gets on my nerves.

The bonuses do rock though, but it just seems like a waste of time to me compared to the encore releases earlier this year. The short smoke stacks also create an asthetic crease in my vision of prime.

And as someone pointed out, this is more a collectors item, the kids toys to me today rock way more than what we got a long time ago. Pass.

I also think that the price is way, way too high, and I can't see more than a few real die-hards buying it for that, given what it is. The GI Joe DVD packs come with 4 figures and a DVD, go for $20, and "peg warm." How they think a sound box, a 3 episode DVD, and a comic re-print are worth jacking the price of this thing up $30 or whatever (assuming the figure alone is worth 40 bucks, which it really ain't, IMO), is beyond me. I only have my beat up old original Prime, so I would like a re-issue, but I'll also hold off and hope that I can get this on clearance for $25 or so.

Honestly, I think Hasbro is nuts trying to sell this for $70.

What lines does the base say?

Also how is the G1 Prime mold still active? You think after a while it would deteriorate.
