Having received my Gen Rattrap finally, I've now got a near complete set of the new Maximals, 'cept of course the boss monkey himself.

I've got the original tucked away in storage somewhere, but I recall he's missing a few bits and has some yellowing (second hand). And I would like something a bit more modern to go with the rest of these modem figures.

So the choice is between United Optimus Prime, or waiting for the upcoming reissue of Takara's Primal. I lean towards United because it's cheaper and likely has better articulation. However the other is much more accurate to the character, whereas I don't seem to get as much of a BW vibe from the United one.

For those who own these figures, which is the better?

Get the Anniversary Primal. United/Cybertron Primal is a cool reimagining, but it doesn't go with the show-accurate figures like Rhinox, Rattrap, and Takara's Dinobot.

Between those two, Legends one is a lot more accurate, and goes better by himself, but if you want to put him along the other Maximals, he would be too big, and then you should consider getting Robot Masters or Telemocha Primal (they share the same mold).

I'd honestly suggest the Legends one out of the two you name, it is far more in line with the rest of the Classics / Generations Maximals.

Get the legends or aniv mold or any retooled version of the original toy. I use robot master myself because he scales in better. Primal was never the tallest maximal. The cybertron mold isn't a great representation he is to mixed to fit in he is like bw, bm and cybertron rolled up into 1 toy.

If you still can, get the RM or the Telemocha Primal if you are going to show the Maximals as a group. Went that way myself.

Wouldn't RM Primal be quite a bit smaller than all the Deluxe figures? I only ever got the RM Starscream figure and remember that size-wise, he was a fairly small deluxe size. I remember Primal wasn't the biggest of the bots but he was taller than Rattrap and Cheetor at least.

Neither of them scales well robot master too small legends too big , the robot master is better that the legend one , but the legend one woulb be more easy to find so go for the legend one , i dont know but i suspect hasbro would release a new one on 2016 but it would be too dangerous to ignore this release and the habro dont release anything so go for the legend one

I don't recommend the Telemocha for the sheer fact that it goes for insane amounts lately. Better bet is the Legends. Scale is off, but unless we get a voyager Dinobot and a legends Rattrap it's always going to be off.
