What do you think Takara will do with the UW line after Baldigus? What do you think they should do?

I'm of the mind that they'll push out 2-3 more combiners, mostly using extant molds - maybe one new mold that gets used a couple times, maybe one heavy retool (like Nosecone), plus a dual-torso Liokaiser (this is just idle speculation) - as a way to keep the line running until Prime Wars III (and the rumored Abominus and Predaking).

My guesses are Liokaiser (with a dual torso), an RID Autobot combiner, and a Unicron Trilogy Decepticon combiner

To be clear - if the Predaking and Abominus rumors are true, we're not counting them in this poll - those would certainly be post-2017 releases

 

I think they might retool some of the the current molds into Abominus maybe, like I've seen pictures of the Blast Off/Strafe mold have a convincing Blot fanmode. I'd be okay with it, it'd make the set "cute" in my opinion and I'd really appreciate the retooling.

Then again I would like new molds. But next will probably be Liokaiser. At some point we will get Abominus and Predaking though.

 

I'm surprised the line is still going - I thought Computron was the end. And then Megatronia. And then Baldigus. The line must be selling well enough to warrant these, so I can imagine a couple more.

 

i expect another bc op torso, dezarus torso, and liokaiser 2 man torso....and hopefully demolisher torso...

 

It would be silly of HasTak to not round out the classic G1 combiner team with Abominus and Preadaking.

 

I'm sure we'll see more. I wouldn't expect Liokaiser though.

 

I hope they do a few more to pad the line until the beasts...

A RID Autobot themed one would be great. Liokaiser would be awesome if different from the Hasbro one. I'd also still like to see the other ten 84/85 Autobot cars in combiner form... we have the perfect number for two more combiners!

my guess is that Baldigus is buying Takara time and money to design a Leozack/Jallugar torso for their version of Liokaiser. (personally i'd just make Leozack, and make Jallugar a legends class with optional missile pod mode)

outside of that, it seems like they're trying to use all of the unique toolings at least once. and as such they have yet to use our version of Nosecone (which will probably see use in Liokaiser) our version of Strafe. nor have they used the Battle Core Optimus noggin.

now what i'd love to see most of all though is a:

RID Spychanger combiner. feature Hotspot retooled into Fire Convoy, Ironhide as Ox, Mirage as Counter Arrow, Streetwise as WARS, and Deadend as Artfire (X-Car and Eaglekiller could be later released by ehobby or milllion publishing)

Raiden. would take a lot of work. most think a full set of new molds are needed. i think a reshelled Onslaught could work as Kaen. Blastoff with his wings clipped can work as the bullet trains, and a heavily retooled rook as the boxy boys.

Protectobots B-Team, consisting of Medix (first aid retool) Heatrock (either of the Nosecones) Skyfeather (either of the Strafes) Checkpoint (battlecore optimus) and SWAT Mirage (drag strip, based on Checkpoint's partner)

Last Stand Wreckers team, Pyro (hotspot) Ironfist (swindle) Guzzle (brawl), Rotorstorm (vortex) Leadfoot (dragstrip)

 

My guess is they're trying to work it out so Liokaiser becomes the 10th numbered UW set. So who takes that 9th slot between it and Computron is as good a guess as any.

So that's at least two. Then it boils down to how many more EX sets we get. I'd wager there's going to be at *least* one, as that Demolishor head is still out there unused and it'd be really easy for Takara to do another Armada themed Combiner (FORMING UNICRON DAMNIT!)

From there? Predaking has been rumored for a long while (From pretty reliable sources) and if that happens it opens pandora's box on beats teams (Abominus, Piranacon, Monstructor, Dinoking, etc)

Well this is the line that got be back into collection and appreciation. They have done an amazing job with G1/2 styles and I have loved the entire series. They have created some oddities with Galvatronus, Victorion, ect. I have purchased both of these sets with Galvotronus being one of my favorites of the entire line for the uniqueness. I would enjoy more f this line as long as they don't go off too far over the creative edge. Basically don't flood the line with uninspired repaints.

 

As UW is a Japanese line (sort of) it makes sense that we would see Liokaiser.

As I see it there are four paths they could go down with LioKaiser.

1. Fancy repaint with minor retooling of the CW Liokaiser (seems too easy for UW)
2. Use the Silverbolt mold and heavily retool to give us a LeoZack torso (seems more likely)
3. Create two new deluxe molds that form the torso for LioKaiser (seems a stretch but you never know).
4. A repaint/retool of CW Liokaiser with an additional jet figure retooled to be LeoZack (seems possible too).

 

1-2 with UW Liokaiser either being immediately next or after the one following Baldigus. A combiner using the Battle Core Prime head, with a new combiner noggin, if Liokaiser is 2nd.

Surprisingly, I'll end up with more of the Hot Spot/Onslaught torsos than Silverbolt and his variations.

 

Probably not a whole lot happening after Liokaiser until Predaking/Abominus/Monstructor are revealed, if they're even happening.
