He is too red, like all red. This isn't even half as red, plus has a wider range of the red shades it has, and it's better placed and looks proper considering the retooling. So, no comparison to the solo Scattershot at all, even the Hasbro set has a less blah red amount on him in torso mode.

I think I'll go with hasbro on this one as well, with the addition of perfect effect chaest shield and head of course.. I suppose afterburner was the tipping point for me.

Sofar, I preferred Takara over hasbro only with bruticus, and that's because of blastoff and vortex, oddly enough, hasbro colors win for me (except for that odd limb)

Ok, sold on UW Computron over CW version. Now just need to raise the funds.

Have you considered which parts you'd use. I think if I had the option I'd go for:
    UW Scatershot
    CW Strafe?
    UW Lightspeed
    CW Afterburner
    UW Nosecone
    UW weapons
    CW hands & feet

Damnit. All this fantastic remolding and then they (expectedly, they did with all UW) go and give him the cartoon accurate deco.

I think that's ugly on Computron, and now comparing the two versions I'm really leaning towards the Hasbro one again :-/ :-/

In a perfect world Takara would release a second version in toy colors (or Hasbro does some last minute changes to their version).

    Damnit damnit damnit :(

Has Hasbro released the images for their individual bot molds of Computron? Seems odd if they haven't.

They haven't. Computron himself hasn't even been officially unveiled by Hasbro. Maybe this weekend, maybe not.

Anyway, Takara Computron here is a real winner. Colors actually look better than I was expecting.

I just find it odd, since doesn't CW Computron come out in May, with UW being in August? Or am I getting things mixed up?

Why did they base Afterburner on an animation error and make him red rather than orange like he should be?
Quite unfortunate. My ideal Computron would be Hasbro's afterburner with the Takara version's wheels and canopy and Takara everything else. Also Nosecone seems to be in G1 toy colours, except they've brightened the brown to a burnt-orange sort of colour.

Anyway, the Takara version's pros do outweigh the cons, so this is definitely the version I'll be getting.

Yeah seeing colored images of Takara Computron is putting me back in the Hasbro camp. New molding on the chest is great but when you make it all the same color that new detail just gets engulfed by the existing shapes. I love their takes on Strafe and Nosecone but not enough to pay the markup plus another $30 for functional feet.

The retro stickers on Hasbros and the new hands/feet sell it. That's the version I want.

    Because Takara do cartoon accuracy

Takara do cartoon accuracy to the point where you stop and go "No, Takara, you don't need to draw in the black line on the back of Slingshot"

Just one more reason the Hasbro individual scattershot is not necessary

Honestly, I still like it and it wasn't too expensive so have an extra isn't the worst thing in the world. My brother has one just because Scattershot was one of the few figures he had one he was a kid, so this prevented him from having to buy a giftset when all he wanted was that figure.

It's posts like these that make me hate myself for liking this thing. :redface2:  I mean, why does there have to be a 'contest' at all?

I'm not interested in putting out money for a Computron, but if I was, I'd go with the Hasbro version. The remolding of Scattershot on the Takara is nice, but I like the paint on Hasbro more. Plus I like how Nosecone looks on Hasbro's version better.
