Even if i have preferred toy colors on others, this just shouts Computron to me more than Hasbro's

Wouldn't call it a fuck-up ... it's just ... TT and their cartoon colours thing.

Overall it's really not as bad as I had feared it'd be.

Hmmm, i was prejudiced against the toon-computing effects, but they actually fill out the chest i felt wasn't pronounced enough very nice and they kind of function like the stickers with the blue triangle on the g1 toy.
Takara might have saved me a PE set there.

I also think Afterburner might be more dark orang, less red: the top of the arm has a lighter hue, maybe the rest of him seems darker because of the light.

I really like that. Yeah, I prefer the Hasbro coloring for Afterburner, but this is a really nice effort. Still getting both, I think.

    :banghead:  "GOT....TO....GET....THIS!!!!!"

Seriously, at this point, even if I got the Hasbro version, I'd never be satisfied knowing that the Unite Warriors version exists and looks like this. Out of all the Combiners, I think this may be the biggest discrepancy between versions. Think about it...until now, the most we've seen is maybe 1 new mold (Grove/Rook, Blast Off jet/shuttle, etc.) and paint differences. We're talking an almost entirely new combiner figure. So much so that for those that like to double dip, they will essentially be buying two entirely different figures.

Other than the feet, that is leaps and bounds better than Hasbro. Wow

    This.
I don't think the colors on the Hasbro pic are accurate, but time will tell.

I don't really have a preference for this character, whom I don't care much for. Gotta say, just looking at them as transformable robots, I would go with the Hasbro version. I like the legs better, I like the combined head A LOT better, and wow check out those awesome hands & feet!

Boy if people thought CW Betatron was too red in Torso mode...

Reminds me of UW Defensor. Just too uniform.

Oh dang, that's really, really nice! Glad to see some deviation from the animation colours on Nosecone as well. The new chestplate on Computron looks a hell of a lot nicer in colour as well.

Not too keen on Afterburner having silver wheels though, kind of takes away from his "futuristic" look. Same as UW Swindle and Onslaught, I think if his wheels had been painted either gunmetal grey or the same colour as the rest of him it would look a lot better. In this instance I think Hasbro's unpainted wheels work better for the mould. That and, not that I dislike UW AB's colours, I just prefer that bright orange colour and the green canopy.

Looking forward to seeing the coloured 'bot-modes.

Colorwise I think Computron is looking surpisingly nice. Definitely getting this set without a doubt.

Hm, not as bad as I was expecting (although I still have to see the individual figures to be completely sold).

Yeah, that's how I feel as well by this point.

I'll be getting the PE hands/feet set instead though.

Except there is, because both have pros and cons. I prefer Hasbro Afterburner so far. We don't know what Hasbro Strafe looks like in robot or vehicle modes. Also there's the fists and feet on the Hasbro version, not to mention Scrounge. In the end, I'm likely getting both, and making the ultimate Computron.
