I'm sure I'm fairly safe in guessing that the answer is "no", but in case I missed something...has UT ever said whether or not they were still planning on releasing Ramhorn or any further tapes?

Also, is anyone on Shapeways making tapes for this guy?

He's still my favorite Blaster figure so far but he's very lonely without any deployable minions.

 

How does this guy scale against the MP line? I have KFC transistor for my G1 display, but would like a version for my Wreckers display that is comparable to Generations Springer.

Dont mean to a necro a thread but I havent played with this guy for a while,still an amazing Blaster. I had a couple questions for those who still have him.

On mine the hips are pretty loose,anyway to tighten them up?

Also should I worried about the tiny stress marks getting bigger on the grey flaps when it Boombox mode?

Also did UniqueToys cancel their Soundwave,I dont remember hearing about it and would still like to see their take on him.

 

The hips/knees on mine were almost always loose. I took it apart to apply some future to the joints, but it didn't seem to help for long. Applying more might have helped, but I couldn't be bothered to unscrew it all again. I haven't noticed any of the stress marks on mine getting larger, but I also don't transform it too often. UniqueToys seems to be doing masterpiece sized stuff now, so their soundwave is probably never coming out unfortunately.

 

A good Soundwave to go up against him is Music Label Soundwave. It's the right size and looks great, especially with Reprolabels.

 

Was it hard to unscrew them all,at the waist and the hips right?

it's been a while but if i remember correctly i removed the two screws in the waist and the two screws on each of the thighs. they weren't too hard to take out, but some of them weren't screwed in straight by the factory. screwing them back in made me nervous of stripping the plastic.

Been 3 long years since I've posted in this thread. Finally got some decent pics of my Soundmixer.
One well placed ReproLabel, Art of War Sonic Rifle, and eye's painted Tamiya Sky Blue.
Also pictured with Perfect Effect Rewinder and Ejecter.

 

Awesome work there . Now I wanna paint the eyes on mine.

 

Whatever happened with the retool of this into Soundwave?

 

Do it, it's such an easy mod because the eyes come out of the head. Makes a huge difference on an already close to perfect figure.

 

Does the included cassette turn into anything?

Edit - I just realized that it turns into his gun. Awesome!

 

I dont think its coming out any more,looks like every 3rd party is going the MP Route.

So even with bad paint skills I cant mess it up?

No kidding. The best option still seems to be G1 Soundwave  

 

I'm using the Music Label one, it's pretty neat. Just not big enough.
