I just checked on ebay and saw him. Is sovereign a better figure though?

You know what? I mistook this thread for DX9's version of MP Galvatron....and this is Unique Toys CHUG Voyager size version, which won't fit in an MP collection at all.

    Sorry about that.

Depends on what you want. Do you want a toy that's slightly taller than MP-10, heavy from arguably too much diecast, and mostly cartoon accurate in robot mode? Get Sovereign. Do you want a slightly stylized Voyager-sized Galvatron with a clever transformation to go with your CHUGs? Mania King is your guy.

Which do people prefer, out of Mania King or Open Play’s Big Cannon?

Totally different sizes - Big Cannon is too big for CHUG scale. He is nicer than Mania King though

Big Cannon is a lot less pointy, too. ;)

Once they're free from storage I have to decide which on to display.

    Toss up from me

I think that Maniaking is a similar height to siege Megatron. I can take a picture of the two when I get off work. (few hrs from now)

I was more thinking in terms of looks and transformation, ignoring height, though I do lean more toward voyager scale

I don't have a POTP HotRod. But I threw in a Titans Return HotRod, and someone else's photo I randomly found off of Google search, that has those two HotRod figures together. So you can kind of guess how Maniaking might scale with POTP HotRod.

Mania King looks better than I remember.

Hopefully a Siege Galvatron is in the works.

Wouldn’t say no to a siege Galvatron. There’s two versions of mania king from what I have seen, one with that sexy gold barrel like in the picture above, and one with an ugly white and orange version

I got big cannon a while back and he is totally fine, not spectacular but good value for money. Basically MP on a budget

Mania king on the other hand, mania king is a toy I ADORE. I still get a kick out of his transformation every time, and I transform him a lot. I don't really have a place for him in my collection, but he is one of the toys I would keep were I to sell the whole collection. The sort of toy I forget I have for a few weeks, then see him on the shelf and immediately have to get him down to mess with. I wholeheartedly recommend him. Dont get me wrong, the materials are good but not 100% up to modern standard, and his gorilla arms are a bit frustrating, but I think he more than makes up for it

The 2nd variant release of Maniaking was called the Vintage Color Version. And I'm pretty sure that that version also has two different versions... some of them had a barrel blaster that lights up like a normal light. And another lights up like a laser pointer, lol. Totally random on which one you'd end up with.
