I decided awhile ago that my Warlord will be sporting the gold chromed Crazy Devy sword as its primary sword and finally ordered one. After a couple weeks, I finally got this monster sized sword today and noticed that theres no hilt for it. Realized after that I need to get their upgrade hands to get the hilt for it! Damn it! Lol! Since theres been no word on War Leo, I finally got Henkei Skyfire, Maiden Japan Bludgeon pretender armor and Guilty seeker weapon upgrades...

I've always had a very poor impression of CD but this ... it's dickery. Scratch that, it's not dickery, it's skydiving-without-a-parachute-extreme-version-dickery.

This is pretty standard for Crazy Devy. It really is "all or nothing" with them. Every set interacts with the others. It's hard to get "just 1 or 2" bits from them---you'll always be needing "some other part from another set".

 

Dude, that isn't "interaction", that's breaking up essential bits. If a dominant market player did something like that it could be considered an anticompetitive abuse (tying/bundling).

 

Yeah... and the advertisement SHOWS a hilt for it! All the sword has is a standard 5mm peg, but I have no idea what tf there is that can carry such a monster sword on a 5mm peg! Besides the original Predaking! Also it came with the red gems that go on the bottom of the hilt! Wtf! And four gray spikes thats for one of Predaking's dusters! Im dumbfounded... looks like either my Black Zarak or Unicron will be keeping it warm until then...

 

You guys are aware the hands came out after the first sword upgrade, and they included the handle so he could hold the big sword. If memory serves the spikes and gems were included with the sword re-releases that came after the hands.

A pain in the ass yes, CD intentionally being dicks not exactly.

 

The hilt isn't necessary unless you get the hands upgrade. The standard sword without the hilt works just fine with the G1 hands.
CD has done some crazy stuff, but I don't think this one of those torches and pitchforks moments.

 

I got the sword for Warlord, and I do not own the original Predaking... and so the hilt is very necessary for this! No way Warlord is going to be able to hold it from the little 5mm peg  

 

That's the main reason I've never ordered from them. It's a little too piecemeal for my liking.

 

As much as ill love whatever War Leo thats coming out, I honestly prefer the original lion mane's design shown in the beginning of this thread over the prototype seen at Nycc, and hope Ut finalize on that

I hope that is correct. What's gonna suck is if sharp claw gets pushed back to mid or late December, cuz of the holidays we might not see him till January

I'm really hoping to have both Sharp Claw and Diesel in hand by the end of year. Finishing off two combiners will feel really good.

I'm really curious to see the quality of their next two releases. The War Lord limbs aren't stellar, so I'm going to wait on reviews of the Sharkticons before getting them. (Plus I'm kinda broke.) I really hope they can up their game in the same way MMC did after the first Knight Morpher.
