Nero!? I bought that guy for $170 from Showz. He’s fully painted as well.
I just remembered him being that on like TCP or BBTS so yeah ShowZ will obviously be alot cheaper
I’m not an expert in how any of it works but I’d assume Megs is gonna be weathered so more paint? Total guess tho
That's why I decided to preorder the non rusted version because it's cheaper
The issue is the prices we are currently talking about the Dotm megatron’s are Chinese prices. That’s the whole reason it’s seen as way too high. American retailers have always been $200+ for figure only $130.
my main point i wanted to add to the thread I guess was that this was pretty obviously coming. they might actually undercut AAT if its somehow under $300 cause ik at least TCP and TFSource didnt discount Mackron that far
Maybe. But I’m not made of money. So if they are as expensive or more than AAT, I’ll just not buy it at all. $200 is reaching the limit for none combiners/large bots. I paid $250 for the 18” Zeta Unicron.
Three times the number of moulds doesn't necessarily mean three times the number of parts. It could be the same number of parts, but manufacturing each of them is significantly more complex.
The simplest form of part production is when two moulds come together and the part gets formed in between them. You can produce these kinds of parts very quickly in large numbers since you can basically (though there's a practical limit) scale the moulds up as much as you want to print more parts at the same time. Takes up less room, more parts at once - it's win/win in the manufacturing world.
But some parts require more than two moulds. Even something as simple as putting a hole in the side requires adding a third mould to the process. Instead of being able to scale this up in two dimensions for mass production you can only scale this up in one dimension. Another hole directly opposite would require a fourth mould, though at least you can still possible scale this up in one dimension.
If you want details on two (or more) adjacent sides... now you need extra moulds AND you can no longer scale up the process. Each part has to be produced one at a time, unless you put in more expense for additional, identical moulds (which you probably will). Now you're putting more money into matching moulds and extra machines, but still producing parts slower than you could if they were just simple two mould forms.
Plastic is cheap. You can buy processed ABS for under $20/kg in bulk, so the raw pellets are going to cost bugger all. But the metal used in the moulds, CNCing them, and the machines to put them to work are not cheap - in terms of both material and time costs.
Highly recommend checking out this video from Teaching Tech for more visual explanation.
How much is that in American?
So that's legit or is it an excuse for them to set the price to high hell?
Only UT knows. And who knows if it’s true.
I think the right side of the tanker has one. Don't know if they just put it on the wrong side or if they put it on both for transformation purposes though, there may be pics that show the other side.
No,UT's weathered version is 1199 RMB and the non-weathered version is 969(both for preorder-price).
I was thinking they got it from the DotM toy’s Mechtech weapon lmao
hoping we can see the painted version soon
The price you mentioned is the pre-order discount price, $1199. While the 1290 is MSRP.
Lots of post mentioned that.
Since the rust version MSRP is similar to AAT one, so I think the final price will be similar to AAT, might be higher.
I remember maybe a few days ago in ShowZ thread, there was a post from ShowZ store saying original AAT price was 300, showZ persuaded AAT to lower the price to $250. (Might due to the competition from UT).
Don't forget AAT's MSRP would also be more expensive.
I used an online conversion (I might be wrong) but the rusty is like around $200.10 based on the conversion I used, again, I could be wrong and it might be more
The reason why AAT and UT announced their megatron at this moment is probably because the recent event happened in Universal Beijing Resort, they found some visitors spit at the cosplayer that dressed like DOTM magatron.and the government critised about that.so it became a hot spot.
That's really rude spitting on a guy just doing his job.
Hope those people got banned.
