Finally had some time to work further on this head, like some other peeps here I dimmed the led eyes and added some detailing like exposed wiring to give more depth and did a dirt pass on top to blend everything in

Ugh removing the head and unscrewing the face drove me nuts! The pin button would no longer depress once it was put back together again, ugh I had to end up leaving the pinn out and did some extra filing on the inside edges to make the button depress again. Now I have to use a tooth pick to turn the light on/off, not sure if others had such frustrations! Now really gotta find time to start on that body!

Looks amazing! And yes, I had the same issue with the stupid button the first time I undid it to put batteries in. I have no idea why they don’t make these battery compartments more easily accessible.

Anyone know how to fix the hip wiggle issue? When I try to stand the figures straight his legs spread apart into a awkwardly wide position.

I'm fairly certain that is one of the upgrade hands for the MPM/MPF/WeiJiang Megatron. I got a pair to go with my MPF version, this looks to be a custom-painted version of that.

Started my process of paint and weathering.

Going to take apart the head and do the eyes.

Maybe take a soldering iron to the damage part of the head.

I figured that after a year I should inform that I plan on continuing this project pretty soon. This was the last I did before Fall came and screwed everything over.

Put black panelliner in the crevices and made certain areas darker for more visual interest. You can also see that by me darkening the areas around the most prominent rust spots it helps to blend them in better. Might need a few very small touchups.

That looks so good, what paints did you use, specially for the silver parts?

Leftover Tamiya TS-83 spray. Steep price for a can but the silver shines as bright as it possibly could for battle damage.

TS-83 really? Your silver/grey parts look really dark and I like that, did you mix some black paint as well?

You're referring to the gunmetal on his forearm. I thought you meant the silver I used for the paint chipping.

I sprayed the parts with Tamiya TS-38 Gunmetal. For where I wanted shadows to be I went over the areas with a Gundam marker; specifically marker Real Touch Grey 3. Based on the intensity of the shadow effect you're going after wipe off excess with a melamin sponge in a rotary motion. It's a great method if you prefer getting stuff done by hand instead of airbrushing.
