Look at the wheel in the leg compared to the vehicle wheel. Almost the exact same size.

This is absolutely mind-blowing. The apparent mass-shifting is awesome.

Will believe the scale and mass hiding when we see it in video reviews.

As a fan of the Movieverse, this is incredible. Between this, the official MPM series, and the higher quality KOs we've been getting, it's a good time to be a fan.

If Lockdown really has that sort of mass shifting between modes, that's just insane. Hopefully it's priced well - I'm in all the way.

This is incredible! I'm definitely interested. I just hope I can afford it when it comes out. No word on price this early on I assume?

Even if he doesn't mass shift as impressively, that's a small thing sacrifice given they got such a perfect proportioned and accurate robot mode out of such a sleak and clean lambo.

    Very impressive and looks fantastic.

I just hope it doesn't take an hour to transform. :lol

Honestly I first saw pics on Facebook, and assumed it was just a pretty accurate action figure - all the way until I got to the last two pictures and saw the alt mode. The fact that this guy transforms is just wizard.

Ha! I used to enjoy lengthy transformations but now that I have kids and the only way to get five minutes of peace is to lock myself in the bathroom, it's a lot more of an endeavor. The last Macross toy I got I had to wait to transform it until I had a day off from work while the kids were in school/daycare. :D

I mean, it doesn't look that complex. The legs look like mostly solid pieces. I think, and hope, it's just a lot of clever parts sandwiching since there's plenty of large sculpted pieces on the robot mode.

God, even the head design is almost perfect (I think the nose is a bit off but it's hard to tell without a closeup) and that's usually where 3Ps struggle most, espcially on movie figures with all the little details. This honestly feels like something from the 2010-2012 Hasbro era refined to perfection.

I only hope the genuis transformation doesn't lead to structural instability. But from what I hear that's not UT's MO.

Yeah I'm as blown away as everyone else. I missed the initial announcement, but I've remained hopeful of 3P movie stuff that improves on some of the lackluster figures we got in previous lines so I was going to be interested anyways. This? This looks like sorcery.

For s&g's, here's a list of what this thing needed to accomplish:

-A tall robot mode that siginificantly compacts into a relatively small alt-mode so that both scale properly
-Hiding most of the car parts in robot mode for the sake of screen accuracy
-Hiding just about all of the robot parts in car mode for the sake of screen accuracy
-A minimal amount of kibble/backpak for, again, accuracy
-Enough moving parts to replicate the numerous small details of the design

And... this somehow manages to accomplish all of those. I don't know what black magic UT used to pull this off but just like everyone else I'm pretty blown away and I hope we get to see how the transformation works in the near future. I hope this finds success because I'd love to see them apply this level of ingenuity to other movie designs that were never done proper justice by the official toys.

So I think I have the lower portion figured out. It looks like the legs fold 180 degrees forward at the knees, rear calves fold outward and form the rear of the car, and the feet form the doors as others have pointed out.

Additionally that whole chest panel swings upward so it might swivel around and form the bottom of the car helping lock other pieces together. I wish we could see the back of bot mode for more clues.

Really the closer I study this the less impossible it seems and the more brilliant it becomes. Since UT and DX9 are related this may be designed by the person who did Carry, a toy that also pulled off a crazy yet intuitive transformation of a leader sized bot into a tiny alt mode.

Looking at this figure, I can already hear this in my head:

And I've been bitching about how much Lockdown got the shaft lately and I didn't even know this was coming. This is perfect timing. Do we know if the facegun and Steeljaw is all he comes with? I'd love if he at least had his hook.
