That looks really good, do you want to leave it matte? Or will you make it shiny?

 

Looks great! You went for a bit more of a clean deco which matches well with the base figure. For mine I just used a dark blue paint which looked really nice over the dark silver base I used.

 

Thanks. I will probably leave it matte for now since gloss can dull chrome. I'm still experimenting to see but might do a repaint down the road.

Yeah I already have Challenger but put a preorder down for the battle damage version just out of curiosity. Still want to see if the vehicle mode is clean or not, and just better lit photos of the bot mode.

Plus TMT have come along since then so I'm feeling more inclined to see how that turns out as well. On that note do we know if Challenger and the TMT will be the same height or are TMT going after the 3A scale?

 

TMT is much taller. Closer to Black Apple Prime's height at 29.5cm.

Just got this guy in the mail today. Was kind of concerned about how he’d scale with the Legendary Toys MPM-04 KO, but he pairs well with him. Challenger has his shortcomings - my copy had a couple of tabs on his shoulders and chest which took some doing to position him with them in place - but he’s thus far my favorite Knight Prime option.

 

I don't know when it was updated but the page for the battle damaged OP on Show Z now says "In Coming"... perhaps this means they're getting ready to ship?

 

That means they should have them in the next couple of days yes.

Depends on what paint type you're using. I use gundam markers and "seed blue" aka a dark blue (almost navy) worked well, but I don't usually stress about getting my colors to match exactly since that would drive me crazy and I'd never end up actually painting anything.

 

I have a technical question about the accessories and extra head sculpts if anybody knows the answer...

The version I bought was a reissue of UTR-02. Not the battle-damaged option. He did not come with the additional head sculpt and alternate face plates included. Is this a factory error? Or did the second edition of these not come with them?

The listing for it on most retailer sites shows that it did, so my assumption was that I either got a version which didn't have them or that it was just a mistake.

 

Latest runs of UT-02 comes with the head that came with Dragoon. No light up or alternate heads. Only one head which can alter between masked and unmasked.

 

If anyone wants the original headsculpts with the LEDs (regular and nemesis versions) for some reason PM me. I have no need for them.
