Yo these photos are lit! I may be down to get this over the first version. And that face is so good. So much better even. Also the blue face is a clever idea and I like it. If reprolabels made a set for him that gave more red it could be seriously elevated.

Okay so looking at the AoE black knight prime it’d have really been nice to have some red on the chest. I think that would seal the deal. Also if it had a sick chrome red sword

Also you totally got it; he needs a red sword! That's what felt off about him. Good news is, the way the sword comes apart actually makes it pretty easy to paint if you want. The blade splits in half down the spine and both halves wrap around an internal bar extending past the crossguard, so you could totally just disassemble it and spray the blade red.

I would love one of these in the Silver Knight colors. I always thought that was a great color scheme.

 

You know, I always thought the whole Silver Knight thing was some serious missed potential to balance G1 fidelity and something fresh and new for Optimus' design. The Silver Knight upgrade could've been a full armor suit that turned into a new trailer and have the core Optimus be as G1 as Bumblebee Optimus. (but maybe a bit slimmer so the toy could actually fit into the armor without making it too bulky) I would've been all over that.

 

Or even just changing it to silver instead of doing minor arm adjustments like in the film. Would’ve sold the look and the “recognise one of your knights” moments. Seriously, make it UT!

 

Not interested by this new paint job honestly but I agree it looks nice. The new head looks really awesome though. Do you think it will be available as separate?
