And the bad news continues…I have to say I’m actually agreeing with people saying how this pre order system makes zero sense. I haven’t seen anything this confusing in ages

 

Okay so first honest opinion. Looks damn good in bot mode. Joints are super stiff, ankle forward motion is weak, but there is a hinged part to the front of the foot that balances that out by giving you the support the ankle alone does not. The face does look smushed, but still an amazing sculpt. The horns just peg into the head. I do not recommend glueing them on because they can break during transformation when flipping the head thru the body. They otherwise hold fine by friction. The instructions are trash. The PVP video while helpful is just as much not helpful. The order he goes in does not match the instructions and even tho they suck, there is reason they go in the order they do. Following his method I ended up with the same gaps he did. I will be giving it another go today following at least the order of the instructions. The alt mode door windows like to pop out, those I am contemplating glueing on. Be cautious as one of the clear headlight covers popped off on mine and I had no idea what I heard or saw hit the floor at first. A little dab of glue on the post fixed that easy enough. So I’d honestly recommend transforming it over a large enough clean space so you can see everything that “may” pop off. Carpeted floors beware. The paint chipping in alt mode is unavoidable for the most part because it pretty much looks how it does out the box, however it is not as bad as pics make it seem because all of it is in the gaps. If you can get it in truck mode correctly you won’t see where the paint chips because the gaps will be covered appropriately. Basically the paint choice could have been better. Finally alt mode. Looks good not great, but again I had a lot of gaps on 1 side while the other locked perfectly following the PvP video. Also I also could not really get the back-back tires to touch the ground, but I see what possibly could have gone wrong during transformation.
After I give it another go later today I’ll see if my opinion of the “good” truck mode changes. All in all again, damn that bot mode looks awesome.   Oh and the weapon does not peg well into the hand of you make a tight fist. I found loosening up the hand held it much better. I would have like the opening in the back to have been smaller for a cleaner look and a snug fit. This boy is beefy and has great weight. It’s like the first time you see spindrift 2.0. Got some crappy pics and they are taken in order FYI.

 

Looks like mine will be here tomorrow. To the people who have him already is there any places that could use some gold paint or modding?

 

I'm going to prepare myself for the unavoidable paint chipping then, really unfortunate for this caliber of figure which is going to blow so many heads off. Looks like they really had some problems. UT replying about the horns and batch refreshes, Box art downgrade, Unavoidable a.k.a out of the box front panel chipping of paint due to the choice of paint quality on these sharp parts and most importantly them leaving the scene.

Rest of the package looks superb - Diecast, Sculpt, Detail, Articulation, Ratchet joints, paint work being better to their previous one I mean the artistic approach, Alt mode, Bot mode. So modders can fix it by doing a custom paint job to the whole figure I guess since it's just paint not plastic breaking off or such.

ShowZ keeps on increasing the price, I take it as the number of figures they are getting are lower and lower something like that ? If ShowZ is $200+ then TFSource will mark it to $400 lmao, they are still selling Dragoon at $320 (2x figure with base price cost)

Well, in that case you should be prepared for the after market prices… i mean, right now they are going up like crazy. In a couple of months i can see people asking 400-500…

True, but there’s issues I’m reading about that make me concerned about ordering, and I’m not too crazy about paying more for this than I did for Dragoon. Wasn’t a fan of the “going out” tax as it was.

Likely the route I’ll take. Most of the KO’s of UT’s stuff seems to have been solid in the past, and they’ll eventually come.

Yeap. That's a fact. I used to think that as well, but seeing this a whole, if (a BIG if) i decide to sell it at some point i will make a profit even if a sell it under price market.

I mean, you could get your money back AND pay for the KO with the profit and still have some money left

Paint chipping is my only real concern with the figure, because it's actually a QC issue, hopefully it will be not as bad as FT Quietus.

 

Challenger had some of the most sturdy paint I've ever owned on a figure. Hopefully chipping isn't too much of an issue on this figure, but since it's covered in paint from head to toe, it makes any chipping more evident

 

Seriously, if this one's paint is chipping, BMB ko will chip twice as much. Especially if they're gonna use the same silver paint they used on Sideswipe and Jazz KOs.
