It's filler, nothing more
This issue was shear moving all the pieces into place for the finale.
Now to wait 3 weeks to see how the battle pans out...
Interesting points, but I would have thought some of this would have been better off in OP issues rather than in the main Unicron comic. Plus side is that it's more than just the usual suspects figuring this all out. Why am I not surprised about the whole issue with the Maximals? Another plus for me, my trio is back together and I hope that we get some good moments before things go to hell going forward. Did we need the Visionaries back up? Has Visionaries ever really worked all that well outside of the comics? With the way this summary paints things, I'm worried now for a certain character.
It's late and I'm a bit tired, so are you saying that the rebuttals to the Scott's comments aren't valid? I mean I'm not disputing that, but I'm confused. And given that it's the last few issues of this universe, I would think talking about the lack of one of the members that helped shape some characters later on would be permitted in this discussion.
I mean, it's definitely a calm-before-the-storm issue, but it's not at all "filler". There's plenty of stuff going on, it's just that lots of it is character stuff rather than plot stuff.
Also, RE: TAAO, the Starscream stuff was actually the one bit of it that I really didn't like. Suuuuuuper-uncomfortable combination of "maybe Starscream wouldn't have been so evil if he wasn't a minority" and "it's not actually Starscream's fault he did evil stuff".
Nobody dies in #5? Thank Rung!
I think BW Megatron might have.
Also, I'm super excited to see the confrontation between the one-eyed pragmatic mastermind with a gun for an arm and Shockwave.
You might want to look at it on another site
I would, but I have no idea how to do spoiler tags. Just know that the Visionaries won’t be bothering the Transformers again.
It’s not. There’s a lot of great character moments that are worth reading.
The only gripe I have is the one thing I knew would happen the moment unicron transformed. He’s just standing around. I said it the moment Alex showed off his robot mode 6 months ago and it’s “oh god please don’t have a robot mode. Every time he transforms he just stands around”
He’s literally honvering over earth the entire issue just like he did on Cybertron in issue 3.
Whew, this issue was exhilarating!
I thought for sure TC was gonna die when he gave Buster to Marissa, but (thankfully?) it seems like that will be delayed to issue 6 if it DOES happen. I'm really hoping that Prowl and Starscream make it out of this alive, honestly. I think Prowl's odds are better than Starscream's since it seems like he'll be the one to kill Shockwave , or maybe Stardrive. All they need to do is survive one more issue, please Mr. Barber, don't take my two favs away...
Agreed but it feels like that confrontation should be with Optimus and not Prowl but I don’t think Optimus is gonna make it out of this one.
I JUST READ THE DAMN THING!!! T_____________________T
Please, dont kill Thundercracker. Please, dont kill Thundercracker. I shed a tear or two when he hand her over to Marissa. Arcee not wanting to say Good Bye to Aileron was cute too. Why? Why is this happening!?! Not only was emotional issue but...damn! action packed as well! The art is f--ing gorgeous! Its all closing so nicely. I am out of words, literally out of words.
Why do I get the suspicion...
Prowl will be the Sudden but Inevitable Betrayal. "The One Eyed" part of the Dark Cybertron prophecy wasn't Shockwave. but Him.... Where's Springer to PUNCH him!?
That Thundercracker/Marissa scene.......you're gonna break our hearts before this is over, aren't you John?
Anyone else really feel it sinking in, much like the characters do, that this is The End? I know we've technically been told it for months now. But this issue is where it really hit me.
I liked it a lot! We had a chance to catch our breath, to take stock and to have a shot at hope. Bludgeon won't go down without taking out a few key people. I think Sunstreaker, Most of the Solstar Knights, Needlenose, Thundercracker, Skywarp, Sandstorm, Slug and Metroplex will all die.
Op will be the last death.
Is Metrotitan still alive?
Anyway, great issue. It will feel even better when read up against 6. I loved Prowl talking to Jetfire, and Stardrive's annoyance with Bee.
I just read Unicron 5. For me the good was the art, the amigos, the really big care packages, OP and RC moments. The bad for me was some of the layout and pacing,(especially during the GI Joe stuff). The ugly was some of the dialogue and the atrocious scientific explanation. Yeesh.
The best part:
No RC and Aileron making out
You need to get rid of the second 's' in spoiler if you want to use the spoiler tag.
No. Metrotitan died in Part 4 of 'The Falling' from Optimus Prime #19, when Shockwave killed him in that issue, after he was already wounded.
