So I've stumbled upon something that fuels my imagination.
    20200402_222545.jpg
Putting together characters that make no narrative sense, figuratively speaking. We've never seen Jetfire and Impactor together, have we? How would THEY interact?

With that in mind, please post your favorite Unexpected Pairings/Odd Couple toy pics! Open to more than two, but hey, less is more. Don't go crazy, lol. Cross-gen-dimension is fine, do what you want.

(Mods: please merge if there's already a thread like this.)

Interesting thread. Here's a few suggestions.

    Checkpoint and Cyberverse Prowl.

    20200330_140646.jpg 20200330_140020.jpg

This third party Nosecone compliments Generations Scoop nicely I think.

    20200318_180859.jpg

Sandstorm and Hubcap. Both associated with the Wreckers. I always thought they looked like younger Autobots of Hot Rod's generation.
Also, in this instance, they have the same head as I customised a second Hub Cap head for Sandstorm to give him a more cartoon accurate head sculpt. I hate faceplates.

    20191208_142854.jpg

Moonracer and Device Label Tigatron. I often find I like to display Transformers of similar colour schemes together.

    20181215_183252.jpg

Well they're both ex Decepticons in the Netflix series.

In other media, Impactor is friends with Megatron while Jetfire was friends with Starscream.

I always wondered if Simon Furman was inspired by the leaflet below when he paired Happy and Wipey together in their desertion of Scorponok.

    This is AMAZING! :music
Loving all the other pairings too!

    This is interesting,and probably a more-true-than-he'd-care-to-admit reality. ;)

Well I've always wondered if he wrote the scenario/story behind the leaflet promotion. It did come out around the time he started writing the US comic.

Thanks. As I said, it's an interesting idea for a thread.

Well, who knew Hasbro would put Scrounge, an obscure comic-book only friend of Blaster, with the Technobots?

Very true! This was an Official Unexpected Pairing, and I will admit the idea of Scrounge acting as conduit for Computron to be able to access the knowledge of Cybaxx intrigued me!

G2 Rage and Black Shadow. I like how their colour schemes compliment each other.

    20200406_133024.jpg

Blot and Scavenger. After reading their Dreamwave profiles, I always felt sorry for these two underdogs though at least their commanders treat them with respect. Actually I always feel sorry for Breakdown too given his paranoia especially dealing with that prick Motormaster. I expect Dragstrip and Wildrider are pricks to him too.

Tracks and Dead End, two bots who can't get enough of themselves...

    20200407_235327.jpg 20200407_234839.jpg

Dead End: "Y'know, I was the superficial, urbane, reddish sports car, associate of Breakdown before Knock Out showed up!"
Tracks: "Darling, I know! You've got more style in your little finger than he has in his entire chassis!"
Dead End: "Oh I know, but it's always nice to be told. Just because he's a doctor!"
Tracks: "Really? I did not know that!"
    Dead End: "Down boy!!"
Tracks: "I don't know why you're hung up on his association with Breakdown. He's paranoid which makes him the jealous type."
Dead End: "No. The other Breakdown. He kind of looks like a beefed up version of you."
    Tracks: "But can he fly?"

I may have to tapped into some stereotypes there...

Two of my favourite G2 figures, Rage and Sizzle...

    20200419_143908.jpg

Double Trouble from Double Face and Double Punch. I was actually pairing them on their garish colour schemes before I remembered both their names start with Double. I'm used to thinking of Double Face as Sideways.

I consider them both retroactively G2.

    20200419_143725.jpg

Another colour based pairing, Rage and Double Punch...

    20200419_143700.jpg

    Rage and Bonecrusher...

Here's one that for me, on the surface, seems unexpected.
But also I think, "why *WASN'T* this something explored in fiction?"

That picture fills me with all kinds of glee :lol
I was thinking of pairing her with MMC's Glit, but I procrastinatiated too long and the toy isn't worth 50 euro's to me, let alone the prices I can still get it for now.

Taking a page from Prime Noble's book I felt these two belong together:

After seeing a review lately, I kind of want a few Lego hats to give the drill headed Powerdasher different looks on different days.
Thanks for the roundabout compliment. There is something nice about pairing or grouping similarly coloured Transformers.

"Bounty Hunters. We don't need those scum!"
