Hazel and cha-cha are great. Heard Mary J Blige did all her own stunts too, which is cool.

Just finished it. Overall I loved it, can’t wait for season 2.

Stand out was number 5, that kid is amazing. Klaus was great. Hazel and cha-cha were a lot of fun and I loved their masks.

Yeah. Although I’d be fine with them mentioning he’s ageing at a faster rate due to all the time travel or something. One way around it, I guess.

Any older though an the costume’s gonna have to change. Visually he was my fav in the whole show too, so I wouldn’t want that.

Well there is a story behind that and the time agency he was working for....don't want to spoil it, but in the comics we do see OLD #5, but as I said don't want to ruin the story

I really hope they show who he was working for as he is in the comic, but I'm not sure how they would pull it off.......

I’ve read the comics, I’m a fan. We’re talking about the actor ageing in real life so they’ll need to hurry and get season 2 out there quickly.

As to what you’re talking about, the first season takes apocalypse suite and Dallas and mixes them both. I think you’ll be pleasantly surprised with what they pull off.

Tame compared to the comic version, who you never saw their faces.

Over all much toned down and many things changed compared to the comic.
Okay, but not as over the top as the comic

Also Diego and the cop weren't dating.

Interesting but not as fun as an animated version would be.

This was 5's boss in the comic

Okay... so I am a huge fan of the original comic. I didn't expect this show to be exactly like the comic, but I was worried that they wouldn't do it justice.
That out of the way, this show does a lot of things really well. While it isn't perfect, it's still pretty entertaining. The changes made... well, I knew they were going to happen, and I'm okay with said changes.

    Overall well worth the watch.

    A solid 7 out of 10.

I don’t understand what you’re trying to prove to me? I didn’t say things haven’t changed, but they do a pretty good job of adapting the book for television within the constraints of that media.

There’s a really weird stubbornness over changes being made to things when adapting something on this forum.

Basically, try it, if you don’t like it, just go read the comic. No harm done

Not saying anything is wrong, I'm watching the series my self, but those two characters in the comics were basically insane Deadpool style comedy killers and while an interesting story, I felt that going more in the direction of the original would be more interesting to watch.
When they showed up in the comic, it was basically about surviving due to how brutal they were.
It was like Tuco's cousins in Breaking bad, when they entered a scene you knew something major was going to happen

But unlike the cousins who were mostly quiet
Hazel and cha-cha often had one liners and jokes more along the lines of Deadpool.

They are used okay in the series, but the violence level and craziness of the comic isn't there.
They are mostly just brutal hitmen the type of which we have seen before in other shows and movies. Not the more interesting, at least to me, crazy time traveling nut jobs your lucky to live through being in the same area in when they are searching for their target.

#5 was scared of just hearing their name in the comic.

Just started this today and it's incredible so far. Really entertaining, though Ellen Page is very dry and dull.

My wife and I just saw the end of season 1. We loved it. I watched it knowing how the comic ends. I was wincing for most of the episode, wondering what all they would show and what they would not...much like watching the end of season 6 of Walking Dead. While lots of stuff deviated, I am happy with it. We are looking fwd to season 2 and the possibilities.

I think humanizing Hazel and Cha-Cha (to include showing their faces) was the best way to go. If they were just these two unstoppable masked Deadpool wannabes quipping one liners all the time, they wouldn't have resonated with me at all, especially considering Hazel's identity crisis and character arc in the show. Plus Mary J. Blige as Cha-Cha is great.

As I said a cartoon might have worked better, as this is a more grounded take, and while a decent watch, if it was a cartoon, it would be a crazy over the top Venture Bros style show.

I did enjoy it, but comparing it to the source material, felt it could have been more.

If it was a cartoon it wouldn’t have the reach it does now, unfortunately.

Ignorance is bliss. Having never read the comic and only using this show as a soul reference, I think it's pretty damn good. Very entertaining. I'm dying to know who the monkey is and how he got that way.
