This book just doesn't do it for me. Is this supposed to be the first wolvie/hulk fight ala hulk 181 done ultimate style?
The article says it isn't supposed to just be a straight up copy of 181 with Ultimate costumes. Personally I'm dieing to see how it pans out, especially with Wolverine getting ripped in half in the very first issue. I know Wolvie is meant to be a hardass but it'll be interesting to see how much it actually affects him, I certainly wouldn't be keen on fighting the Hulk again, knowing my "unbreakable" bones aren't worth shit.
Well, he's fucked. He might regenerate new legs, but he won't be regenerating any adamantium around the bones. I'm kinda lost on the point of this. Is there an actual reason to tell this story other than gratuitous violence passing for gritty story-telling?
I really hope Hulk kicks his ass, I'm so sick of Wolverine at this point. Though I really doubt thats going to happen in the 1st issue, I'd love to see it happen.
What the hell? Wolverine gets ripped in half? This thing reeks of a publicity stunt, I think its safe to say marvel has sunk to a new low here. Its cool to see Yu doing wolverine again, but this series does not sound all that enticing.
That'd be my guess as well. If he can survive even being ripped in half I'd assume his healing factor can reconnect the two half's like nothing ever happened. Plus that way he'll still have all his adamantium bones. Also as DevilzFan pointed out, I don't think any of his bones actually broke, just popped a joint or something allowing Hulk to do that to Wolverine.
If anything. I think Wolverine's reaction is somewhat appropriate. A sort of "WTF?" That is crazy for that to happen. I dunno, might have to try and check this out.
The wolverine craze is insane! I haven't like wolvie since the early, early 90's. Wolvie was king in the late 70's and 80's though.
All I can say is, holy fuck. That is insane. I wasn't going to get this, but now I just might. I think that is the reason for doing this though, to show that it's gonna be so hardcore that people will read it. Oh, I quoted deathsheadx because I also think Wolvie'll do something like this.
Maybe you're right but Wolverine says "Unbreakable. There goes that" which implies that he is indeed totally fucked. Even if it is just a cast of Hulk ripping joints out there's no way Wolverine can win cause Hulk will just keep ripping joints out. Which makes me wonder why no one has ever tried that against Wolverine before, Ultimate or 616.
Wolverine didn't actually look at the bones where he was ripped in half to know if they broke or not though. He may have just have jumped to the conclusion that his adamantium bones had broken.
I'm hoping we get 1 issue of the Hulk ripping Wolverine into little pieces. And 5 issues of the Hulk stomping on Wolverine's head. I'd buy that!
Eh...I'd prefer Gah Lak Tus to step on both Hulk and Logan, killing them both simultaniously in the Ult. Universe, and the 616. Then all would be happy.
