Ultimate FF #27: You'll Laugh, You'll Cry, You'll say WTF?!?

    Anyone else pick this up? Besides the "What the fuck just happened?" ending, the rest of the issue was top notch.

    I had wood seeing Zombie Reed giving Johnny a "beer recipe" :lol 

    But the heartwrenching part of the book was Ben. Man, I almost wanted to kill myself, reading that made me so depressed. I think it's the first time they've really given Ben a real human/emotional side in the comics. Very well written.

    :( ...that's pretty damn depressing, but that's what I love about the Ultimate books...they tend to have a more humanly realistic spin on things like this.

    Aww, kinda reminds me of the scene with Jessica Alba in the movie, only without the terrible acting. Poor Ben

    But yeah, cool scene. This Ben's "This Man, This Monster" ain't going quite as happily as 616-Ben's, I'm guessing.

    Really enjoyed this issue.
    That scene was perfect and showed that Ban's still getting use to his condition, and not just 'Hey, this is the way I am, cool' that use to happen.

    You mean the guy saying that he's to late?
    That the Super-Skrull.

    Hell, he still hasn't. In one of the recent stories, he gets rick and they comment how it's the first time Ben has been truely happy in years.

    Whats wrong with the art? It doesnt get much better than Greg Land. In my opinion this book has only been good when Millar's involved. I like Ellis, but his run on Ult-FF4 was atrocious.

    yeah, Greg Land's are on Ult. FF has been some of the best out there. And it doesn't hurt how "well" he draws Sue. hehe

    In May (if there are no delays) with #30. According to the MARVEL ZOMBIES #5 solicit, the conclusion of the mini-series ties into the Frightful storyline too.

    Speaking of which, anyone notice that the aliens from the Ultimates vol. 1 are mentioned in the President Thor sequence? And it turns out that "Skrull" is a more politically correct term for them?

    Yeah I noticed them mentioning The Chitauri.

    Though I thought it was widely known that they were the ultimized version of the Skrulls.

    Though I have a feeling that the ambassador they mentioned turns out to the the Super Skrull

    did this issue tie into marvel zombies? i just picked up ish one and two of that, but if this had a decent tie in, it might be worth it....

    It's said they are, but I think it's the first time within the Ultimate comics that they acknowledge this (There was a reason they decided to go with Chitauri instead of Skrull at first--can't remember why).
